I ordered this book for completion of my M.M. degree. If you understand the degrees then the book will be of great help to you. Otherwise it may be frustrating to try and decipher the text. It's impossible that someone, with no masonic background, to pick up this book and read it. My wife tried, looked at the first two pages and handed it back to me, dejected. The G.L. of Texas for a long time had outlawed this book and to this day in some lodges the possession of the book is frowned upon. Guard it well and keep it hid until you are ready to study. I hope this review is useful to all brethren and I wish you good luck in your journey's.

Texas Masonic Code Book for A.F & A.M.

In todays world, this is becoming a must for study to obtain proficiency in the TQ&A for advancement through the master's degree. After learning to decipher the code from a knowledgable Brother, you will be able to study independently. Though never approved by the Grand Lodge of Texas, this book was not frowned upon by Texas Masons when it was originally published in 1907. The TQ&A(test questions & answers) only became required for advancement in Texas in 1923. These books have been in use since that time under threat of masonic disassociation until last year(2007) at Grand Lodge, when their use was allowed with restrictions. As stated on the cover page, it is simply, "A Valuable Aid to the Memory".

Truly a great aid to the memory work. Some may complain about the errors, but keep in mind that not everything can be word for word. It's kind of an obligation to study and improve your memory on your own but having the book will help when you really try.

NO longer useful too many errors.

Not revised since 1984. Come on publisher! Not up to date. No revisions in 27 years. Errors. no longer accurate for study purposes. Would not reccomend purchasing or using until revised. Texas GL now approves use privately.

    Invaluable

I received this book from a brother after returning my MM work and has been an invaluable tool to refresh my memory in the EA and FC work. I would not suggest anyone buying/receiving a copy until returning their MM TQ&A. Some of the information is incorrect, and you wouldn't want to spoil the surprises later!

King Solomon and His Followers 25

This is a very good book to assist a Mason in learning the work. Caution is advised as I found several errors in this book. If used as an guide to assist in learning or refreshing your memory this book is fine.
