Overview

'By nature, by instinct, by personality, people react differently and use different techniques and ways of dealing with a situation. Success in the future will come to those who see people as unique individuals, with unique talents. Rather than just selecting people with the right skills, winning organizations will be those that also focus on selecting people with the skills who are also suited by temperament to complete the task successfully. How do you discover who you really are? Who your team members really are? What role you're best adapted to play? Many systems have been devised based on the great psychologist, Carl Jung's teachings. But the best may well be a system called Kingdomality, created by Richard and Susan Silvano of Career Management International. Kingdomality links an understanding of personality - the natural/instinctive way we act and react - with role models that clearly define the whole sweep of personality types. By matching personality types to roles played by citizens in a medieval kingdom and developing a simple test - blind to issues such as gender, race, education, economic circumstance - the Silvanos have created a way of discovering who you are. By knowing your own role, and the essence of the roles of others around you, you'll understand why certain people see problems and opportunities differently. To know who you really are brings power and mastery to your life.' From the foreword by Ken Blanchard, bestselling co-author of The One Minute Manager

Complements Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and is a gem!

This is just the kind of book we need to use not only in our organizations, but in everyday life interacting with other people! As an MBTI user and big fan, I found the model to be totally in alignment with the theory of the great psychiatrist Carl Jung, who was acknowledged by the foreword written by Ken Blanchard in my copy. This makes it a wonderfully refreshing and new way of looking at type and temperament in a very memorable and entertaining fashion. I like the easy definitions and pictorial representations of each of the twelve roles. It would certainly make an enlightening workshop! All in all, an excellent book, can be read quickly with sufficient depth, and well worth buying!

    Great New Tool

We have used many of the available personality assessments but the Kingdomality concepts are the best. Many of Carl Jung derivatives are too complicated but this book makes it understandable and fun. It would be great if the authors offered training programs

    This is a great book!

As far as business books go, this is the most unique and intriguing book that I have ever read. I enjoyed finding out about my medieval character, The Discoverer, and I how I best interact with those around me in the Kingdom. I only wish that I could get my book back from all of my friends that have borrowed it. That probably won't be anytime soon, so I'm just going to have to buy another one!

    Fun and Insightful

I love this book!!! It's not the typical dull and dreary management book - it's an interesting fun read. Does indeed, promote an 'ingenious' way to see yourself and interact with people you don't understand.

    Knightly Tales

Kingdomality was an easy read but packed with a lot of information. The medieval setting and the characters made for an entertaining and enjoyable read. I couldn't wait to discover my own character and that of those around me, at work and at home. Very helpful in understanding interpersonal interactions.

    Awesome Insights About the Workplace!

I enjoyed this book so much. Reading about the characters and the various personalities in the medieval kingdom made me think my company, like many others, is probably a parallel universe. I visited the website the book recommended and had fun taking the Kingdomality test on line. I see broad applications for team building and facilitation of group dynamics in the workplace using knowledge gleaned from the book.

Creative Personality Profile and Team Building Tool

If you liked the One Minute Manager or Raving Fans you will love Kingdomality! This is a very creative team building tool. I encourage you to go to the Kingdomality web site, find out what your role would have been in the medieval kingdom. Then read the book and use it professionally or personally to understand how you and your team/friends best work/play together.
