Book #1 of the USA Today Bestselling King Trilogy

"I am the man who can find anything or anyone. For a price. And my price is you."

When Mia Turner's brother goes missing in Mexico, while on an archaeological dig, she believes that life couldn't get much worse. But when she's blocked at every turn from finding answers, by both local and U.S. authorities, she must turn to a man she swears is the devil.

Others might be fooled by his private jet, fine tailored suits, and disarming smile, but Mia knows something dark, sinister, and unnatural lurks behind those penetrating, pale-gray eyes. And the more she learns, the more she realizes she may never be free again.

Editorial Reviews

Noel Wallace
"I give this book a 11 on a scale of one to 10. This book catches you right from the beginning and does not let go. I started this book only last night and stayed up way past my bed time reading, and it was the first thing I picked up this morning I could not put it down till it was done. I am only taking time out from book number two to write this review because everyone needs to now about this series."
Leigh Reviewer
"The writing was so suspenseful and well done that I couldn't put it down, and the sexual tension and racing storyline more than made up for the lack of nudity. The characters were complex and a little bit snarky, and I couldn't put the book down until I found out who or even what King was."
TJ Lovestories
"King's is everything it promised to be and more. It's dark, mysterious and gritty with a touch of sensual and a dash of snarky humor that will prompt more questions than give answers and will leave you wanting more."

I am soooo sick of authors selling you only a part of a book! Of course this book ended with a cliffhanger and you have to buy the next book to get the rest of the story. And then im sure there will be a third book. On another note, the book tells a good story that now im going to have to buy the second book. I wish authors or barnes and noble would let buyers know its not a finished book!

Seriously Mimi you've done it again. You've created a fantastic new series that leaves us wanting more and more. Knowing this a trilogy and having to wait for book 3 is going to drive me insane. And the twists and mystery....GAHHH!!! Mimi this is why i read your book and love you so much. Keep them coming. And hurry with that book!!

I hate cliffhangers so I purposely waited until the conclusion was out to start reading this. And were they ever some cliffhangers! Must have been torture for those who read it when it first came out. This series is a little reminiscent of Karen Marie Moning's "Fever" series, only a LOT BETTER! And much darker than MJP's other works. Want more like this. SOOOOO Good!

I couldn't even finish this book. Flipped pages just to see how it ended. I think the author was going for a Barron's and Mac vibe but she totally missed the mark. Mia was so irritating and juvenile. One of those stupid heroines who deserves what she gets.

Love this book. Mimi makes you invest in the characters, and makes you want for more. Nothing is ever what it appears on the surface. Can't wait for her to finish the final book in the series. King for a Day, the next book in the series just makes you wish she would write faster. A must read for anyone who loves her other series

This new series is starting out like all of Mimi's books....Incredible! I swear she enjoys making me crazy. :) She is so Cimil like. :) She has me reeling, King is a man (perhaps) that people should be cautious of but yet there has to be more to him. I hope Mia can find out just what make King tick. The sub characters are intriguing, Mack...YUM! I just purchased Ling For A Day and am anxious to get started reading that. I am a long time fan of Mimi's and she never disappoints me although she makes me nervous when reading her exciting, wild books. Loved it Mimi!!

REVIEW BY NOEL WALLACE HALE I give this book a 11 on a scale of one to 10. This book catches you right from the beginning and does not let go. If you have not read any of Mimi's other series such as the first installment of her Fate series or her Accidentally Yours series you are missing out

This book is a super clean cut copy of the Fever Series. I read other books by this same author and loved them. Thinking this book would be just as great I bought it just to be disappointed in its similarities to the Fever Series. Same plot of mysterious guy and girl that has lost a sibling. Just missing all the action and the extreme sci-fi elements which make the series fantastic and easy to read multiple times. This book is disappointing.

Mimi is a fab writer. She can really weave a tale whether her story is quirky or mysterious. I can not wait to read what happens in the whole trilogy. Book one does not disappoint.

King’s is book one in The King Trilogy by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff Wow, how do I review this book. I love Mimi Jean’s writing. Every one of her series is different and never fails to surprise me in some way. I think this one might just take the cake! Mia Turner has a great job, travels all over the country, and has a close relationship with her family. Especially her brother who is more like her best friend. So, when her brother goes missing on an archeological dig in Mexico, she’s scared like crazy. She tries to get information but no one will say anything. And when she is frustrated, alone, standing in the rain, with no where left to turn, a name and address is thrust into her hand. Go to him, he will help you. He will find your brother. “King. His name is King.” King is both handsome beyond belief, but sinister, dark, mysterious, cruel, manipulative, and so much more. He makes a deal with Mia. He will find her brother, and she must belong to him, for whatever he needs her for. “Was there more to the world than what one simply saw on the surface? Yes.” As Mia is pulled into the darkness of King’s life, she is thrust into a world she never imagined. A world where the rich bartered with people’s lives to get what they wanted. A world where things that should have been impossible suddenly become possible. Just what is King? Is he a human? Is he a monster? “Wish me luck.” “You don’t need luck. You just need King.” As it turns out, there is a reason King needs/wants Mia. She has an ability he needs. There is something he wants and he will do whatever it takes to get it. But, slowly, Mia starts to see something else under all that cold exterior. Pain. There is a reason he is the way he is. Something made him this way, something painful. I did love this book but I have to admit to you that I still have no idea what in the world King is. And there is a heck of a cliff hanger. Thankfully, I am reading the entire series so I won’t need to suffer in between books. I loved Mia and her toughness. Even though she is scared to death, she stands up to King. Perhaps she is the only one that does this and lives. Mia will do whatever she has to do to save her brother. Does that include a lifetime of servitude to King? And how did I feel about King? Is he dark and broody and cruel? Yes. But I loved him. I too see something there. He does want something but I believe he also cares, both for Mia and for his other friend/employee or whatever he is, Mack. Who I also loved by the way. So I am hooked. I have to know what in the world is happening. So off I go to book two, King for a Day. Stay tuned. “He was like a flame fueled by pure sin that I craved to touch.”

Mimi continues to write amazing books. She has such a great ability to draw you into the book like you are actually there. Her humor is always a plus, and the descriptions are great. Thanks for another great book! I can only be happy that the other two books are out already so I don't have to wait to read what happens!!

I loved the Accidentally Yours and Fatebook series. But this first book of the King series was only OK. Mia and King's characters lacked depth, so I had the feeling they had chemistry, but I wasn't sure. Neither of them had a reason to like the other beyond physical attraction (any hint of a deeper connection appeared at the very end of the book). It was strange not knowing anyone's motivations except for basic surface needs. In fact, only Mack had any depth as far as I saw. My other issue was that the rules of their universe were unclear, which confused me. I get that the main character was in the dark as to what was allowed, but she did not seem to learn from her experiences or mistakes. I found myself asking if she was just too dense to pick up on what was going on around her or if I didn't understand because I missed something. Overall, an alright story, and I'll read the rest because I know MJP is expert at tying everything together in the later books of the series. Maybe it'll all fall into place by the end. Until then, waiting for Mermen and Immortal Matchmakers series.

Well.....it hooked me. Had to get the next book. This kept my attention thru out. I checked to be sure the three books were out before I started reading it. I loved the story line and the way it has you guessing and then find out your wrong. I have only did a few reviews and I have started reading other trilogy and never got the next book. I save only a few books on my nook ( I am very selective on my books ) and even if I have paid for them I delete them. This one I will keep. A good read.will write a review on the next book.

I was frustrated while reading. I wanted to know who King was. I was happy when King let her finally see some of his abilities. It was emotional in a good way. But her inner conflict of submitting and being tough was a little annoying at times. But it could be because I was wanting to know everything but I kept reading. I'm glad there is more to this and that it didn't end in a rush to make sense of everything and give you the happy ending. I just need to find out if they work past their can't touch me emotions and get together. I guess that's his weakness he doesn't want known.
