Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Kipper, his close pals, and a special visitor team up for a fabulous holiday story. It's Christmas Eve, and Kipper and Pig are so excited about opening their presents they don't notice a tiny mouse who's hiding in their Christmas tree. But Arnold does -- and helps the critter get into the holiday spirit. This cozy Christmas adventure will delight little ones -- and it even features a cool flashing light at the end of the book.
Children's Literature
Kipper the puppy can't decide which is better, Christmas Eve or Christmas. He and his friends, Pig, Pig's cousin Arnold, and Tiger enjoy the preparations—bringing home the tree, hanging decorations, and wrapping presents. Only Arnold is observant enough to notice that a little mouse has come in with the tree. A sweet tale for the youngest set about friends enjoying each other and the holiday, the book comes with a gimmicky flashing light on the last page. 1999, Red Wagon/Harcourt, Ages 2 to 6, $13.95. Cute, long lasting blinking light

This is a very sweet story about Kipper the dog on Christmas Eve. We've had ours for a year, and the light at the end is still blinking. Not sure how long it will last, and it doesn't appear to be replaceable. This is a favorite at our house.
