Editorial Reviews

Guilty Pleasure Book Reviews - Didi Sundance
“This short story has the emotional PUNCH of a full length book. KISMET is a sweet, sexy addition to the SERENDIPITY series and leaves you feeling like you read a full length book instead of a novella. There are tidbits about the residents of SERENDIPITY, but not a lot, most of KISMET takes place out of town, but enough to satisfy me until DESTINY comes out on 1/3/12.” 4 ½ STARS

A very short and fast read about a second chance at love. I really liked the story so much that I wished it would've continued on a bit more. I wanted to see the relationship develop between Trevor and Lissa's daughter Livvy. That's the problem with novellas, you always want to see more but it was still good.

Another great story by Carly Phillips. Phillips never ceases to amaze me with her character creation. Both Trevor and Lissa had their own problems, preconceived notions and inner turmoil to overcome, but in the end they both realized that what they had together was more important than anything that had happened in the past. I'm enjoying our journey through the tiny town of Serendipity and I can't wait until Destiny comes out in the spring!

    3.5stars Cloyingly Sweet

This short engages you immediately and takes you back to the small town of Serendipity and is a passable mind mint. While part of a series you will not be lost if you read out of order. This one is also not one of the brothers.

Often re-connection stories tend to endlessly rake over the reasons a couple broke up until you wonder why they would ever get back together. Although the subject is broached here, there’s more info about what’s transpired in their time apart and how they could get together based on their lives now rather than them seeing their younger selves. Lissa Gardelli has long recovered from her bad marriage after an unplanned teen pregnancy but never stopped loving her adorable but poor suitor, (that has now made good) Trevor Dane. Trevor on the other hand has been plagued with thoughts of his old flame living the high life in a happy wealthy marriage though he has found no other woman to take her place. These two don’t waste much time getting back together and make good characters together and apart.

While a quick easy read, and part of the overall series, you’d be fine without this entry (unless you are a complete-ist).

Kismet knocks romance on its heels!

Carly phillips has woven a fantastic plotline of lost love and second chances. Beautifully written and executed novella. Oozes romance that anyone can relate to.

    Great fast read!

I really liked this. I have been a fan of Carly Phillips for years and I think she just keeps getting better. I like that this is loosly connected the the Serendipty series - which is great!

    Cute Addition

I thought this was a cute addition to the series. I wish it was a little longer, but I understand the need for the novella.

    Short But Very Sweet

Nobody writes a love story like Carly Phillips... I have read everything she has on the book shelf and am always watching for more. Just a Novella but certainly worth reading.
