Kiss Me Goodnightby Michele Zurlo
Life can be challenging for Lacey, especially when things don't come in sets of six, but she's smart and funny and able to keep her demons at bay-most
I'm Lacey Hallem, and I have a few secrets. These aren't them: I wash my hands a lot and lie when I'm stressed. Also, I have horrible taste in men. That's how I knew Dylan was trouble the first time I saw him...
Life can be challenging for Lacey, especially when things don't come in sets of six, but she's smart and funny and able to keep her demons at bay-most of the time. She might have sensed trouble when she set eyes on Dylan, a delectable musician in a vintage T-shirt, but that doesn't stop her from thinking about him, or spending more and more time in his company.
Enter Thomas. Wealthy, handsome, and completely adoring of Lacey (flaws and all), he's everything a man should be. So why can't she convince her heart to fall in love?
Prepare to be swept up in Michele Zurlo's emotional and compelling story of learning to trust yourself, facing the past, and finding strength you never knew you had.

I wasn’t sure what kind of journey I was in for from this book when I first started to read it. Lacey clearly has issues, she admits to lying on a daily basis in the past. As the book progresses her OCD is shown as coping mechanism of dark event in her life, the number six and it multiples manifests itself into everything. Six can/bottles of everything in her cupboards, washing her hands six times whenever she finds herself getting anxious. You don’t get to fully understand why the six is so significant until the reason for her compulsions is revealed. The event is dark, tugs on the heart strings of the reader and refreshingly different one for an author to focus on, not the usual sexual abuse that is prevalent in a lot of new adult genres. The writing is great and absorbing, you feel her distress, her need to lie, to make her hands red raw. I was Team Dylan for the majority of the book but he could have acted better at times towards Lacey, dead wife or no dead wife. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
