Overview

When Crispin, Lord Cavratt, thoroughly and scandalously kisses a serving woman in the garden of a country inn, he assumes the encounter will be of no consequence. But he couldn't be more mistaken- the maid is not only a lady of birth, she's the niece of a very large, exceptionally angry gentleman, who claims Crispin has compromised his niece beyond redemption. The dismayed young lord has no choice but to marry Miss Catherine Thorndale, who lacks both money and refinement and assumes all men are as vicious as her guardian uncle. Trapped between an unwanted marriage and a hasty annulment, which would leave his reputation tainted and Catherine's utterly ruined, Crispin begins guiding his wife's transformation from a socially petrified country girl to a lady of society. Their unfolding relationship reveals encouraging surprises for both of them, and privately, each of them wonders if theirs may become a true marriage of the heart. But their hopes are dashed when forces conspire to split asunder what fate has granted, and as a battle of wits escalates into a life-threatening confrontation, will it be possible for Crispin and Catherine to live happily ever after?

Wonderful characters and witty dialogue. A refreshingly clean romance.

But not dull. If you need steamy sex this is not the book for you. But if your looking for looking for a damsel in distress being saved by a likable and honorable hero----this is it. 205 pages. Now I would like to read more of this author but since her books are all over $10 I'll probably have to see if they're available at the local library. er books are rather high for e books. At least for me as I buy between 10 and 20 books a month so I need to stay on a book budget

Clean - no sex, just kissing. Fine overall but not my favorite Eden.

This is a fantastic story. I very much enjoyed the journey the main characters had to take. It is an interesting twist on the theme of a classic romance.

I enjoyed this book. The author did a fantastic job bringing out the story and capturing the unique personality of each character. I would definately recommend this book to all.

This book drove me crazy. The heroine is always crying or upset with her hero/husband but never says why. He's constantly apologizing. There is absolutely no communication between them, neither being able to make a coherent thought about what they want. And every time the uncle appears, the husband is suddenly away. By the second appearance, you could guess what would happen. I however, moderately, did enjoy the witty banter. Won't be reading another book by this author.

I absolutely love reading historical romances from the regency era. The book was frustrating at parts. However, the characters were so irrestible that you couldnt help but over look it. A nice clean, quick read with some kick.

Lack of communication. Will they or won't they? What do they REALLY want? I just wanted to slap the characters silly. And not just the romantic interests. None of the characters seem to adhere to the [well-known] social mores of the Regency Period. If you can't get the simple things right historically, then make it a contemporary.
