    Kiss of Death = Amazing

I also had my doubts about this newest installment of the Morganville Vampire series, but I was proved completely wrong! It was the best one by far. Rachel Caine just keeps throwing random, awesome curve ball, every time you open her newest book. This is my favorite series of all time, and if you haven't read them yet, go out and buy them all right this instant!

Claire's character has developed so much since the first book, and truly she is my favorite main character ever! Shane is still Shane, but he too has grown. You learn more about his cryptic past in each book. Eve, well there are no words to describe Eve. She's really cool and hilarious. Michael is still sweet Michael, but has grown up a lot since the beginning.

I personally can't wait until November 2, when the 9th book comes out. It's called Ghost Town. It just sounds so cool. The cover is amazing and the best one yet. Well, just to sum it up, Morganville = Amazing!!

    Great Vamprie Serie

I was instantly hooked after reading the first book, just had to get used to the author writing in the 3rd person. Glad to hear there's a 9th book to look forward to. After reading book 8th I hoped this wasn't the end, the main characters have more dangers and experiences to deal with. I have recommend this series to all my friends.

WOW! how the characters have changed. good book!

This was surely a good book. I wouldn't say it was as good as all the other books in the series but it was a good book. Claire, in my opinion, is pretty annoying. She always has to be so fakely "badass". Shane is still Shane, broad and pretty smooth with his comebacks and sarcasm. Michael is becoming to feel closer to Eve and *SPOILER* feels bad that he is not able to give her children. Eve is clingy and has lost her edge. She's crying and passing out every second. Grrrrr! And of course Myrnin's crazyness is greatly missed in the book. Oliver is a complete badass and actually shows that he has a great sense of humor in this book. I don't really like how the book ended but yeah, it was a pretty good book. Can't wait for the next one!

    Shane, Shane, Shane....

This installment is great and sort of picks up where the last one left off. The great thing about it is that it has great twists and turns that are realistic and in line with the way the series has been all along. Most importantly - SHANE!!! He is still just as hot and sweet and great as in any of the other novels. He has such a great chemistry and his passion shines through the pages. Its a quick read, but the best part is taht you can re-read it until the next installment comes. Enjoy!!!!

    great book!

I love the Morganville Vampires series, and this book kept me entertained. I loved that Claire and her friends got to leave Morganville to travel with Michael for his studio recording. And their escort person makes the adventure that much more entertaining. You never know who is going to be the good or bad guys. As the series continue, the characters, especially some of the more mysterious ones, get more intertwined in Claire's life. I really like how Claire and her friends always stick together through everything. They are tempermental and emotional and it only makes the read that much more fun. I can't wait for the next one!

A refreshing and totally entertaining tale

Morganville, Texas was founded by vampires led by Amelia who sought a safe haven for her species from human hunters. The town is a melting pot of sorts but to keep mortals safe, each human resident has a vampiric Protector. Blood is dispensed at blood banks and no one is allowed to leave once you enter although Amelia has allowed one exception; Claire, Shane, Michael and Evie may go to Dallas so that the vampire Michael can record his music.

On their way, their guard and escort Oliver has them stop in Durrram where he and Michael conduct business while leaving Claire alone. However, Morley and his vampiric followers who oppose the Morganville rules hijack them. Michael and Oliver rescue the others, but they end up on the deserted town of Blacke. The Morley vampires attack, but something more feral assaults both sides as zombie vampires seek to dine on each of the combatants.

The eighth Morganville Vampire saga is different than most of the previous entries as the heroes are outside the town so obtain a taste where the local rules do not apply. Thus the audience sees a diverse species as vampires come in different types and philosophies especially re humans. A refreshing and totally entertaining tale, Kiss of Death is a super Texas fantasy as the Rachel Caine's world of vampires expands to the delight of teen readers and us folks in the Twilight of our years.

    Disappointed

This good must have been forced, i know i had to force myself to read it. It did not flow, it seemed to be here, and then there and then yonder, then back to here. Everything kinda took you into the next direction but unnecessarily round about. Nothing was especially interesting, and just when it kinda started to roll the sun came out and crisis was over. This seems to be a trend in the last couple books in this series but this one really fell short. There is a lot of building story but the big payoff falls short. Even the characters personal relationships fall short. i'm not even remotely interested in michael and eve's romance, and shane and claire has been the same for three books now (shane has warm lips and claire loses her head everytime he kisses her)...boring, i don't expect hot and steamy from a young adult book but i don't even know why she is mentioning the relationships if she's not going to more effort and imagination into cultivating them.

    Did Not Disappoint

My thoughts...One of my favorite things about Rachel Caine is the ease in which I can slip back into her world. Her characters are interesting, funny, sometimes predictable, but very lovable. Kiss Of Death was not an exception, it was an enjoyable, quick read.

As you can read in the summary, the foursome is on another adventure, this time out of Morganville. Michael's talent sends them on a road trip, that holds several bumps in the road. The plot moved at a steady pace, allowing the reader to enjoy all the action. I did notice the actions of several of the characters were a little less thought out. I found myself yelling at the book on several occasions, saying "Why would you do that?". I noticed an absence of several of my favorite characters, but I am sure they will be back in the next book, Ghost Town (October, 2010).

In conclusion, I enjoyed this 8th installment in the Morganville Vampire series. These books are on my auto buy list. They never disappoint when I am looking for a fun, fast paced supernatural story. If you are new to the series, I recommend you start with book 1, Glass Houses.

A GREAT VAMP SERIES..... YOU GOTTA READ!!

I really enjoy these series. They are well written with plenty of suspense! I like that they are not your classic teenager girl falls in love with as teenager vampire boy. These books are based on the town of Morganville, where Texas Prairie University is. It is about a girl that is attending the college and gets caught up in the town affairs. She ends up renting a room at a house off of campus and then discovers that the whole town is run by vampires. All the books are great because throughout the series you think certain people are bad and others good. then to find out you were wrong and they are the opposite. It also has romance between claire and a boy that has grown up there. If you are not into the big thick books these are small easy reads. Trust me, they will leave you wanting more Claire, Shane, Michael and Eve!!!!

    Amazing

Just as good as all the others. Caine really knows how to keep the series going while keeping it intersting. I went out and bought the book the day it came out, literally started reading it then and there. I can't wait for the next in the series. Amazing author with a gift that keeps the story moving. Never a dull moment.
