Overview

Book 3 in the Feline Breeds series.

They've waited a decade to come together. Long years filled with unbearable pain, and soul-wrenching torment that have changed them both. Left wounds that have laid their souls bare. Wounds that stand one chance of healing - if only they could stop fighting each other long enough for the truth to work its healing balm.

Kane, a relentless warrior, lost more than his heart to Sherra in a night of mating passion that marked them both for life. But news of her death ripped his soul apart. For years he has fought to avenge the death of the woman he loved more than his own life, by revealing the deceit and cruelty of the Council that created the Breeds.

But Sherra didn't die. In a cruel and evil twist she was convinced by her sadistic handlers that the man she had given her body, heart and soul to had betrayed not only her, but the child she carried - and lost.

Amid the rapidly escalating violence against the Feline Breeds, Kane and Sherra learn that there's more to mating than just the ""heat"", just as there's more to love than just the sex...

    Draws You In...

After spending one night together in a council lab a decade ago, Kane and Sherra never thought they would see each other again. Kane believed Sherra dead and Sherra believed Kane left her in the lab after promising to come back for her. When they see each other again, they can scarcely be civil. Add the "heat" and the story takes off. New characters book 2 are back(Roni's biological father and brother Seth). And we briefly meet a new lion breed, Jonas Wyatt.

When an attack at Sanctuary hits too close, the Breeds decide to fight back to enact breed law.

Don't miss this one. It's a winner and continues to draw you in to the breed world.

    My Favorite One So Far!

LOVED this book! Kane and Sherra share a tortured past, where Sherra (a snow leopard breed) thought Kane (a non-breed, but a military man) left her in the science labs, basically for dead. Little did she realize, that Kane was just about dead, too, being tortured for information. Both of them spent almost 11 years apart from each other, and the way they come together again is ironic, but touching. The back-and-forth banter they give each other makes you wonder if they'll ever get together. But get together they do, and it's great! A wonderful, poignant, touching love story, with quite a bit of action thrown in for good measure. An excellent read!

    Wrong Overview!!!

This is a great book. However it is not about Marina and Kaden. This book is about Kane and Sherra.

    AWESOME LOVE STORY--AWESOME SERIES!!!

The third book of the feline breed series is the first female breed/human story, as well as my absolute favorite story.
Kane Tyler is a hero for his Breed mate, and Sherra is the snow leopard Breed who can bring him to his knees. Except a decade of sorrow, secrets and misplaced feelings of betrayal make this one hell of a struggle to find happiness again.
I wanted to cry over Kane's pain when he realized the woman he mated, and fell in love with over a decade ago, who he presumed dead, was actually living. He hid his pain through snide remarks, watching Sherra suffer, not knowing she'd miscarried their child, and been raped. His years of fighting for his long-dead lover were for nothing, or so he thought.
Sherra thinks Kane betrayed her, leaving her in the Labs, never knowing Kane had been attacked, and buried alive before he could rescue her.
This story is gut-wrenching, and Sherra hides her love for Kane behind the Mating Heat, because it's easy, and she doesn't have to confront her past, but Kane finally breaks down, and that's when she realizes she's been hurting them both.
FANTASTIC love story. The entire series is outstanding.

    Sherra & Kane...

Fourth in The Breeds Series (3rd in the Feline Breeds), and not as good as the previous books in this series.

This is the first female breed/human story of the series. And even though it's the 4th book of the entire series, it's the 3rd book of the Felines, I recommend reading them in order and reading Elizabeth's Wolf before this one. I tried to skip EW and found I was lost as to who Cassie was, and who Dash & Elizabeth were.. and Cassie is an important element of this story.

This book was exhausting to me. So much "hate between the mates", and because of this, I found by the end of the book, I didn't care about the main characters anymore. Not like the previous 3 books, which I really enjoyed. I got my HEA but not sure it was worth it trying to finish the book to get to it. Almost 98% of the book was fighting between the characters, 1% was Mating Heat, and the final 1% was the last few pages of the book wrapping it up so quickly it made my head spin.

I couldn't make myself finish this one

That's it. i can't seem to make myself finish anymore of this book. It's crap. I don't understand the characters, and much is left to the imagination on the overarching story of the breed, with only a page or two between what I guess is supposed to be steamy sex scenes, but that really just seem graphic and not so steamy. Moving this book to my unfinished/unliked shelf.

    1

I had to give it a 1 because there is no 0. I have loved every other book in this series really enjoyed all of them. It took me weeks to find this book where I could afford it. Several used book stores, 2 public libraries and Amazon finally after all of this I was sickened with the book. Every time Kane and Sharra were together felt like a violation. She begged him not to his arrogance says he knew better and took her anyway.
In my world no is no and taking after no is rape pure and simple. I had to leave it unfinished after she begged him to stop and he did it anyway.

This story was expected since we discovered that Kane and Sherra

This story was expected since we discovered that Kane and Sherra are actually mates since before they breeds escape the labs. And after all this time they are mated and fighting the signs. I loved theis spats and moments together, they are quite a pair and after everything that happened is understandable to see Sherra reluctancy to just accept a mate. She suffered a lot in the labs after Kane disapeared and it’s not his fault, but things are different between them now, but are grown ups and fighting for the Breeds.

This was another great story and Sherra was perfect for me. We also got to see the other couples and the changes for the Breed in the real world, outside Sanctuary. Loving this sereies and can’t wait to continue with those shifters.

One of the best in the Breed Series

I started in the middle of this series, and then moved around. This book on Sherra and Kane is one of the best - I wanted it to be the second book, and hated having to read 2 others before this story. It was worth the wait.

Kane has a quick wit and a smart mouth. Sherra needs to have her head examined waiting so long to get to the truth, and take what was hers.

I really like the series, and hope that the next 3 books get back to the quality of the first half the series through Mercury's War.
