Is it lust?

Ivak Sigurdsson is dead . . . well, sort of. Guilty of the sin of lust, he's been given an unusual penance: spend eternity as a Viking vampire angel, or vangel, fighting Lucipires, Satan's vampire demons on earth. Is shea reward for his good deeds, or a temptation sent to rattle his lustsome brain?

Or is it love?

Gabrielle, a lawyer, begs Ivak to help get her brother out of prison. Aided by the Cajun LeDeux family and their chief looney bird, Tante Lulu, Ivak reluctantly agrees. Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Hill's third Deadly Angels paranormal (after Kiss of Surrender) strays from the humorous into the ridiculous. Viking Ivak Sigurdsson was turned into a "vangel," a vampire angel, so he could atone for years of raping women and cuckolding men. In the present day, 1,200 years later, he poses as a "spiritual advisor" within the notorious Angola Prison. Despite a millennium of life experience and a job that requires constant contact with people, Ivak reacts to the modern world with a cluelessness that feels contrived and puerile. Equally absurd is his treatment of the heroine, attorney Gabrielle Sonnier, whom he manhandles, orders about, and otherwise attempts to dominate. Her outward offense is inexplicably overwhelmed by her inner feelings of desire as she reluctantly accepts Ivak's help with freeing her wrongly convicted brother from prison. Occasional jokes can't redeem the clumsy premise, repellent hero, and flimsy heroine. Agent: Jenny Bent, the Bent Agency.

Ivak Sigurdsson is a Vangel (Vampire, Viking, Angel). Ivak was a viking that was deemed upon his death guilty of the sin of lust. His choice was to become a Vangel and serve under the Arch Angel Michael removing the Lucipires, Satan’s demon/vampires on earth or hell. Ivak choose Vangel. Now the centuries of celibacy and protecting inmates at the Angola Prison form Lucipires, Ivak is getting tired of his existence. Until Gabrielle Sonnier, lawyer, walks into his life.

Gabrielle Sonnier only wants to get her brother out of prison. She became a lawyer just to help him but she is running out of options. Sent to visit Tante Lulu, the head of a crazy Cajun LeDeux family, she discovers much needed help in a quirky granny package.

Ivak isn’t sure if what to make of Gabrielle. Is it lust? Could he have found love? And why does Gabrielle live across the street from one of the biggest Lucipires dens they’ve come across?

Kiss of Temptation had a marvelous combination of witty, crazy characters, eccentric Cajuns, alpha Vikings with fangs and a riveting plot. Enjoyable from start to finish, Sandra Hill made me laugh and my heart clench. It was truly a pleasure to read this book... a feel good paranormal read.

This ARC copy of Kiss of Temptation was given to me by Avon in exchange for an honest review. Publish Date March 26, 2013.

Each book is better than the last!

I love this series. Kiss of Temptation is my very favorite to date. I loved the joy and laughter in this book. Loved Tante LuLu and the prison talent show. Michael becomes more and more likeable and human in each book, well, as human as the right hand of God can be. Loved it, can’t wait for the next.

Oh. My. Word. I can’t get enough of Sandra Hill’s deadly angels series. After reading the first book in this series, I practically pounced on the chance to read Ivak’s story.

The deadly angels series takes place in contemporary times, but each prologue takes us back to Viking times where we get a glimpse into the Vikings lives. Each of them are guilty of one of the seven deadly sins. Ivak’s deadly sin is Lust. Because of his lust, Michael the Archangel has made it so that Ivak, as well as the rest of his brothers, are stuck in a sort of penance for their sins.

Fast forward a few thousand years and Ivak is living in his own personal hell. He’s surrounded by men. Literally. He works at Angola prison and doesn’t see the humor in the fact that there aren’t any women anywhere.

Enter in Gabrielle- beautiful lawyer who’s trying to get her wrongly convicted brother out of prison.

Ivak has problems of his own, he’s trying to do a talent show in order to raise money for the prison, in the middle of trying to convince Gabrielle’s brother…she shows up, with a few other hilarious characters and the rest is history. The minute they lay eyes on one another a flicker of electricity zaps through the air. As a reader and a fan of this series, you have to laugh at Ivak’s “aw crap” attitude. He knows he’s just seen his soul mate, but it’s impossible to stop it. The only fear he has, is will it be lust, or love?

I LOVED Ivaks character. Being a Viking, he was always so self assured and matter of fact. He was super protective of Gabrielle and I appreciated that although his sin was lust, he really practiced a lot of self control!!

The story line was very tight. The book could have ended 3/4 of the way through because everything was basically wrapped up quite nicely.

Sandra Hill’s writing gets better with every single book I read. I strongly recommend this one if you like paranormal books chuck full of humor!

There are a few graphic sex scenes and swearing.

Love Angel Rimance, & Vamp, putting two together was great!

Since there are seven brothers, I hope she will continue. The book is sensual, funny, good plot, & hard to put down. I love the Borden reference as a cook, and that she still wears her period clothing.

Never left any feedback until now. Don't waste your time or money. I wouldn't even suggest this for the middle school kids, sans the sex. Just a bunch of nonsense.

    JUST AWESOME

This book as well as all the Deadly Angel Books are just awesome. Love and humor make all of Sandra Hill's book worth reading but when she joins the Vangels with Tante Lulu.. OH MY GOSH what a treat.. Sandra is one of the best authors out there and her books are definitely worth reading and re-reading and re-reading.

    A disappointment

Not nearly as good as her other books in the series. The characters are poorly developed and Ivak is a caricature who has little depth.

Sandra Hill's vangels--Viking, vampire angels--give readers a whole different way to look at sin and redemption, one that's funny with some sizzling romance thrown in. I wish I had a beach and some sun. KISS OF TEMPTATION is a great escape.
