Editorial Reviews

Romantic Times - Jill Smith
The third chapter in Leto's dynamic supernatural series is a wild chase through exotic locales. The heroine of this story is a treasure hunter with bendable ethics, and the collision of past and present magic ignites both passion and danger, making this a terrific addition to the series. Hang on for the ride!

Meet the Author

New York Times bestselling author Julie Leto actually hates hearing ghost stories...mainly because she’s a self-avowed fraidy cat. On ghost tours, she is known to wear the rosary bracelet that she was given as a child (which was blessed by the Pope, according to her grandmother) and to announce loudly that any ghosts in the vicinity should show themselves only to the other people on the tour and not her, because she’s just there to hear about the history.

She does, however, love writing ghost stories, especially when they are super-sexy, mysterious and fun. The Phantom series was conceived of very early in her career, but she sold the revised idea, along with two sequels, fourteen years after Damon Forsyth, the hero of Phantom Pleasures, first stormed out of her brain. Now that she has the rights back to the series, she hopes to write the second trilogy very soon and answer the final questions about the Gypsy curse that plagues the Forsyth family.

Julie lives on the west coast of Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance. Readers can find her at www.julieleto.com, on Facebook and as @JulieLeto on Twitter.

In Germany, Australian treasure hunter Mariah Hunter gets to the artifact before her top rival, her former lover Ben Rousseau. He warns her that the hidden stone she has found is cursed, but she assumes he is pulling a ruse to steal the find from her. ------------ When she touches the stone, she is shocked. Her caress releases Rafe Forsyth from his rock imprisonment; he and his brothers were incarcerated inside of stone by dark mage Rogan. Needing to provide priceless coins to a dangerous collector she foolishly agreed to work for, Mariah makes a deal with Rafe. She will help him get fully freed from his imprisonment and not just his current nocturnal liberty if in return he helps her find valuable loot to pay her debt. Besides her treacherous client, neither is aware of an enemy of Rafe coming to kill both of them.----------- The third Phantom urban romantic fantasy (see PHANTOM'S TOUCH and PHANTOM PLEASURES) is an engaging tale due to the lead female, a gender bending rogue who at a minimum stretches the boundaries of the law and ethics. The story line is fast-paced from the moment Mariah touches the prison stone and never slows as she and Rafe take the audience on a series of misadventures as love may not be enough to set him free.------------- Harriet Klausner

Loved this series and hoping to see more about Gemma, Rogan, Serena, and Logan! The saga is not complete without their stories! So hoping they are already in the works!

Mariah Hunter is a treasure hunter and ex-lover to Dr. Ben Rousseau. Mariah is willing to double cross Ben to get what she wants. Ben warns Mariah that she'll get into more trouble than she bargained for. Mariah chooses to ignore Ben's advice. Mariah needs to retrieve the Mayan coins to a collector before he ruins her reputation as treasure hunter. Rafe Forsyth only wanted to protect his sister from Rogan. Yet he and his brothers were trapped by black magic into objects like a mirror, sword, painting, and now a stone. Mariah is startle by Rafe's appearance before her yet can't understand how it works. Mariah isn't the only one after the stone. Gemma Von Roan and Paschal Rousseau are searching thru K'ver archives looking for clues to the next object that holds Forsyth brother. Paschal finally reveals to Gemma who he really is but Gemma doesn't seem to believe him. Meanwhile Ben and Cat seem to finallly admit their fears, hopes, and dreams for one another. Mariah gets into hot water needing to be rescued. Will Mariah believe Rafe? Can Rafe accept himself? Will Gemma believe in what Paschal says? Your answers await you in Kiss of the Phantom. I sure do hope this series of books continues because I have to know if the remaining brothers get rescued too. The book is a page turner from beginning to end for me. I kept telling myself just one more page and one more chapter. I'm a fan of this author's works. For me, what made the story so relatable was the characters. I could make many paragraphs just about the characters. Honestly, the characters really struggled with themselves and those around them. I love stories like this because the create an element of the unknown which makes me hungry for more. I will definitely read what this author puts out.
