Meet the Author

Penelope King is a native Californian who now lives in beautiful South Carolina. She says "y'all" more often than she'd like to admit, eats more fried food than is probably healthy, and still hasn't gotten used to the scary thunderstorms that seem to appear from out of nowhere.

She stays up way too late and does the bulk of her writing in the witching hours. She rarely misses a sunrise, and needs to include a special "thank you" in her book credits to Starbucks caramel frappuccinos.

When she's not writing, she's reading any and all YA out there, swimming, kayaking at the river, doing Zumba and kickboxing, or watching a trashy reality show. She can BBQ better than most men, and if she had to marry a food it would probably be pizza, but she'd cheat on it with sushi.

Kiss the Crystal Sun Book Two of the Spellbound Trilogy By Penel

    Kiss the Crystal Sun
Book Two of the Spellbound Trilogy
    By Penelope King

Calista isn’t an ordinary girl she recently found out that the special powers she has always exhibited have come from a long line of witches, but when she was a baby her mother placed a spell on her that made her all but invisible to the rest of her maternal family and when her mother died she grew up thinking she was the only one of her kind. Soon after she moved to California and met her maternal grandmother she also met the boy of her dreams literally, Nicholas he too has special abilities and grew up without the guidance of a family but unlike Callista he was able to explore many different facets of the magical world. Now Nicholas is trying to save Callista’s friend Justin and purge him of an ancient gypsy curse that causes him to kill witches making him a witch hunter.

This book is full of twists and turns not only is Callista trying to save her best friend but she also finds out that her grandmother has been hiding devastating secrets from her. We also find out more about Callista’s mother and Callista’s life before she moved from Louisiana, with all that has happened in this book I don’t know how Penelope King will be able to top it but I look forward to find out what she will come up with next.

I received this from the author after I agreed to read and review the first book in this trilogy Witchy, Witchy, from the ARR Paranormal Romance part of the Making Connections group on Goodreads. For those of you that read my initial review of Witchy, Witchy, you know that I really enjoyed the first book. I didn't think it was possible, but Kiss the Crystal Sun was even better than the first!

I don't want to give anything away, except to say that Calista matured a lot in a short time, which may seem unrealistic, but it definitely worked with this story. I will end by saying that again the characters were very engaging, the story flowed well, and the romance was sweet. The ending was fantastic and annoying all at the same time, since the third book isn't out yet, so I'll have to wait to find out what happens. I can't wait to read the third book in this trilogy. Thanks for such a great story.

EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE!!
I really liked Witchy Witchy and had to get Kiss the Crstal Sun as soon as it was available. Well it did not disappoint! I loved the first story but thought this one wwas even better with filling out more of the story and background of the characters. I was on the edge of my seat for the last few chapters and was shocked at the bombshell! Cant wait for summer to get here so I can read the third book (I wish there was more!!!!)
