Overview

A love beyond life...a danger beyond doubt.

In a romantic and suspenseful collection of the New York Times bestselling trilogy, love's unbreakable bonds are put to the test.

When her boyfriend, Tristan, died, Ivy thought she'd lost everything, even her faith in angels. But now she's discovered that he's her guardian angel — his presence so strong that she can feel the touch of his hand, the beat of his heart. Ivy needs Tristan now more than ever because he knows she's in terrible danger. Only Ivy's guardian angel can save her now that his killer is after her.

But if Tristan rescues Ivy, his mission on earth will be finished, and he must leave her behind forever. Will saving Ivy mean losing her just when he's finally reached her again?

Ivy always believed in angels. When she meets Tristan, it's the love of a lifetime. When he dies, her heart is broken and her belief in angels vanishes. And without that belief, she is unable to feel Tristan's presence when he returns--as an angel. Now Ivy is in terrible danger, and Tristan is struggling to save her. How can he protect her if she's lost her faith in angels? Original.

I absolutaly love this book. I could not put it down once I began reading it. It is not only a teen romance novel but it is also a mystery. It is full of twists that will make you never want to put it down. This book was very well written.

    Tristan solves the case!

If you're into romance, suspense, and fiction then you should definitely give Kissed by an Angel a try. Elizabeth Chandler doesn't even have to wait until the end of the book to give us a climax. Already in the first few chapters of the book you are on your toes and shocked at the events that are unfolding. The author also gives the book a twist by making it third person omniscient and switching the narrator various times throughout the book.

On their way there Tristan is driving way too fast and Ivy tells him to slow don but he can't because the breaks don't work. They end up in a crash and Tristan dies. Ivy ends up surviving and she spends most of her time mourning for Tristan. What she doesn't know is that Tristan is not completely dead rather he is her guardian angel and the only person who can see him is Ivy's little brother Philip. Tristan is watching over her and quickly learns that he has to complete a mission in order for him to rest completely in peace.

After a lot of investigating, Tristan finds that his death was not accidental. Someone cut the brakes with the intent of killing Ivy and now he has to find out who it was and stop them from proceeding with their plan. The author makes the main character Ivy start out weak and useless in the beginning but then builds her personality as time progresses. She also adds even more to the antagonist which is Ivy's step brother Gregory. Gregory liked Ivy even before their parents decided to get married so he's even more dangerous because he lives under the same roof as Ivy. "Ella's a tough kitten just like you Ivy," Gregory said smiling. This was when Ella, Ivy's kitten, was intentionally hurt by Gregory and he was suggesting that the same would happen to Ivy. The author makes all of the characters realistic because they all show a sign of pain internally and externally like Ivy and they all go through everyday events. The setting of this story is very significant because it takes place in a small town where nothing ever happens and if it weren't a small town it would have been harder for Tristan to individually investigate the people in the town.

The author likes to use a lot of dramatic irony because we find out who the murderer is even before Ivy does. Every character is used for a specific reason for example, if we didn't have Tristan we never would have found out who the murderer was and it would have changed the whole outcome of the story. There is also a lot of switching back and forth between main characters to let us know how each person's mind works and what they know about certain situations. If we didn't have this we would have to rely solely on the word of just one character which wouldn't be as exciting or challenging. I thought the author did a really good job with the book there wasn't anything that I disliked. The book was entertaining to read because it had me putting together a lot of clues to figure out what was going to happen next. I also really liked the theme which was that you sometimes have to sacrifice your happiness in order for others to be happy.

    predictable, creepy and rushed

seriously? it took three books to finsh this series?? sorry, im not a tween or a teen, but i enjoy young adult fiction and this book should be ashamed of itself to think that young adults are so dense. the implications in this book are weak, the writing is impersonal and predictable. This story reads like an on again off again pick up game of "and then". Good idea, lame story.

Kissed by an Angel is Worth Your Time

The Kissed by an Angel series is a trilogy with love, faith, humor, and tragedy. It is about two young lovers, Tristan and Ivy, who are separated by an awful car accident which results in Tristan's death. Ivy, devastated by the loss of her love, continues on with life despite the pain she is feeling with the help of her step brother Gregory. Ivy believes that everyone has a set of angels that help them through ever step of their lives but loses faith in them because Tristan died that night and she didn't. Little does she know, Tristan is her new guardian angel. All angels have a purpose, or a mission if you will, that pertains to helping a specific person. Tristan's mission is to help Ivy, but he has problems figuring out just what his mission is till one day it hits him. He is forced to make a decision, finish his mission on earth and move on into the afterlife, or stay with her forever.

THIS BOOK SHOULD BE MADE INTO A MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!!!!!! I loved the book. I am so glad that I stumbled upon it. No one told me about it, I didn't even know that it existed. It was wonderful. I was at the store looking for another great book to read after having finished the Twilight saga. It made me cry (literally tears rolling down my cheeks!) I would have to hide my face to prevent my husband from seeing me. It made me feel like a teenager again (hey, it wasn't that long for me Im only 27, but still you tend to forget those adventures with everyday life.) It made me laugh, the book had me wondering the whole time. I had a few guesses or hunches, but the book was so good I was second guessing myself. I usually figure movies or books out right away with half baked plots. This book, absolutely not half baked. I would recommed this book for those hopeless romantics that like a mixture of excitement, drama, mystery. This book would make a great movie. It has all the elements you can possibly want and it would do great in all of the following areas: Love, Romance, Hope, Mystery, Suspense, some Comedy-funny sarcasm going on. Its just great all the way around. I loved the fact that all three books were combined in one. I literally read the book in ONE DAY. All I can say is that Elizabeth Chandler is my new fav. and I hope she reads this message or someone shows it to her. It would be an honor!!!!

    Wild ride

Just finished this and it was very captivating. Ivy sure has a heck of a time. Her story really picks up in the second book. Second and third books were definitely the best, where the action was. Also read by chandler: "Don't Tell" and "Dark Secrets" -excellent action packed mysteries as well.

One of the best books I have ever read

Kissed by an Angel is one of the best books I have read in a while. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine. The novel grabbed my attention the second I saw it at a book fair. When I turned to ask what she would think of it she told me it was a book she had already read and I must read it. I took her word for it and now I can't think of anything better I could have spent my money on. The book has you in its grasp from the first few pages. It' takes a later part in the book and puts it at the beginning. It was the most important part of the book, what everything else was based on. I wanted to keep reading so I would know the previous events that led up to that moment. In this case that moment was a car crash. I was shell shocked when it happened even though it was already foretold. This story almost made me cry on numerous occasions. That's how much I was able to get into it. It had one tragedy after another. Every time I wasn't reading my mind would wonder back to the story try to figure out its mysteries and what would happen next. Ivy, one of the main characters in the book, is in danger because of a car accident that wasn't really an accident. Someone in the car was meant to be killed. After Tristan died in the so called "accident" he was made into an angel. The love of Ivy's life was now her angel that was here to help her in upcoming challenges. Every time he appeared before her and she couldn't see him was heart breaking. Constantly when you are reading you are willing her to listen to his warning and for her to see him. This book had a perfectly even amount of romance and danger all mixed with a great amount of suspense. I would have to recommend this to anyone who likes suspense and mystery. Time after time this book surprised me. I wasn't able to read fast enough to solve the mystery and for it to answer all my questions. This novel is also good for those of you who like to read about dangerous encounters. If car accidents, murders, and nearly jumping in front of a train are not good enough for you I don't know what is. However romance took a very big rule in this book. If you are someone who can't take romance and drama in a book this is not for you. I loved the book though some may say differently. Anyone if given the chance should read it. Even if you aren't usually into books like this I suggest you read it. Who knows it might surprise you. Although I was in love with the story I am only giving it 4 stars on account of the numerous disasters that took place. I would have moments when I felt it was too much or I would think "O great something bad has happened again". At times the book had so many tragedies I doubted there would ever be a happy ending. But at the end it all makes sense why there were so many and it all wrapped up nicely. It was an ending that most would hope for in a book like this. It was what I was hoping for at least. This was a great book and I can't wait to read the next one.

Hard to type this..still crying inside...

This book was fabulous!!!!!! I cried so much throughout it!!! I disliked the ending a little because I will admit I am secretly in love yet again with a fictional character(first Edward Cullen, now Tristan). This is a good book for everyone and anyone. I think the back of the book gives away a little much but when I read when Tristan died, I cried and despaired as if it was the first time I ever experienced a death, even a fictional one!!! Definitely add to your reading list!!!

    Ah-Mazing!!!!

This book is...there isn't enough words to describe it. Amazing, Astounding, Magnificent, Wonderful. Shall i go on? I physically couldn't put this book down. When something happened to Ivy or someone else, I would shake because her words are so powerful they made me tremble. Absolutely brilliantly written. I wish she kept writing on this series. I could read it forever. She's now my inspiration for writing. I wish one day people could post reviews of my stories. Definitely read it. It had romance, adventure, suspense, unexpected events that will blow your mind, and you will feel angry at one of the characters. I was crying when this book ended. The words she chose touched my heart. They made me see things differently, per say, the way when someone says they love me, i know where they are coming from. It is scary good. Very pleasing and a beautiful story in itself. On a scale one to ten, a definite million and three. Fantastic job.

    Expected Better

I really am not one to write a review unless the book is not as great as all the jazz I read.
The book was indeed a love story. The story however, was predictable. I knew who was committing the act before I even reached the 2nd book.
I did like the love triangle that was created between Tristan, Ivy, and Will. It did seem to have realism between them where one does not want to let go but must.
I hope you enjoy the book more than I did because I found it to be kind of a boring read.

    Loved this book!!

To this day this trilogy is my ABSOLUTE favorite I have ever read.. the story is instantly captivating and you feel completely captivated until the very last word on the very last page! The mystery plot has twists and turns that makes it nearly impossible to put the book down. While reading this book, the readers find out key information to solving the mystery even before the main character Ivy figures it out, and it makes for an interesting mixture of disquietude yearning and just pure captivation! The writing is very detailed and written so wonderfully that you feel everything Ivy feels, whether it be anger, sadness, or happiness. I LOVE the characters of Tristan and ivy so much! I never wanted this story to end. Even though I was sad the book ended, I was completely satisfied with the ending of the book. The ending of this book has complete closure, which was never present in the whole rest of the story. This book is a MUST read! I can't even explain how often I think of this book and the characters and the story, its absolutely crazy! I have reread this book 3 times, and the book never fails to please me EVERY time. I read a lot and this is still my favorite story ever, above anything else. Needless to say, do yourself a favor and get this book. I promise this book won't let you down!

    One of my favorite books

I bought this book a few years ago and I have lost count on how many times I have ready it. This book brings me on an emotional level I cannot even describe. I think about the story line all day and can't wait to come home and dive back into it. It's such a beautiful story that never gets old. I would like to thank the author for this precious gift.

    Angelic and Heart felt

This was a great easy read. It was about a love between Tristan and Ivy who are in high school but find a love that most people don't find but once in their life. Tristan dies in the beginning of the book and the rest of it is left to unravel the web of lies and hatred that Ivy's new stepbrother Greggory has for her and the things that he won't stop doing in order to destroy her and everyone she loves. It's a good romantic book as well as a suspense as well. I would recommend this to someone who is interested in the supernatural and the powers that angels can have over life as we know it.

    WORST BOOK EVER!

To people considering buying this book, save yourself the time and money. I read the twilight series and it kicks this series but. It seemed more realistic, had a better plot line, better characters, and actually had some action to it. This was sappy, predictable, and BORING! I have read some really boring and stupid books but this one takes the cake.
