I had read a bad review by someone in a major newspaper which I didn't want to believe; but it is true. This cd is awful what happened to Paul's voice..where is his sweet voice. He sounds 100 yrs old in this cd...I guess he can't sing these types of songs...or something. He sounds so lifeless. Didn't anyone have the heart to tell him how badly he sounded....I am very disappointed I am sorry that I ever purchased this cd. I would not recommend this cd to anyone. I have been his life-long fan.

I love this recording! I saw the video of Paul and other great musicians like Diana Krall and Joe Walsh recording the cd, and just kept hearing one of the songs in my head. After I got the cd and learned the songs I enjoyed it more and more. The musicianship is excellent, and Paul's voice is subtle and beautiful.

Paul McCartney's first full-length studio album in four years, Kisses on the Bottom is a collection of vocal standards -- the first of its kind in his discography. The son of a '20s bandleader, McCartney no doubt heard many of these songs while growing up, and this album shows a special kinship between singer and song that goes far beyond the many songbook collections attempted by others of his generation. Produced by jazz and vocal associate Tommy LiPuma, the album features guestwork from the likes of Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, and Diana Krall. The leadoff track (and the inspiration for the album title) is Fats Waller's "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down (And Write Myself a Letter).,"
