All Music Guide - Jason MacNeil
The Voyces' Brian Wurschum doesn't have the most powerful voice in pop music, but the way he uses it is indeed quite appealing. With the musician often registering in the higher range, the singer seems to nail a sweet, sugar-coated and cavity-inducing pop gem like the title track perfectly. Cheerful, bouncy and infectious, the tune sets Kissing Like It's Love off on the right course, bringing to mind equally adept power pop maestros like Jeremy Morris and more obscure bands like Cool Blue Halo. Sweet is an adjective best describing most of the album, especially the slower but pretty "Hair Up High" that has gorgeous harmonies from Jude Kastle. The oddly titled "You're in ...

Sweet is an adjective best describing most of the album, especially the slower but pretty "Hair Up High" that has gorgeous harmonies from Jude Kastle. The oddly titled "You're in Charge of Driving the Narcotics Trolley, And You're Doing an Excellent Job" is a quirky but pleasing bit of pop. Breezy California pop would be another apt description of the songs, especially "Call It Home," which seems to conjure up images of Bread and Cat Stevens. Fans of Roger McGuinn and Tom Petty circa "Wildflowers" would seek comfort and joy in "Humming" which definitely causes the listener to hum along without much coaxing. The album closes with two lengthier pieces, including "The Canyon Ladies" which starts off with a spacy feel before Wurschum brings it back into his niche. The same can be said of the lullaby-like "Where the Little Girls Still Throw Roses."

    Brilliant songwriting

Five star songwriting. A well done disc by some pretty obscure masters. Title track should be on the radio everywhere.

    Fantastic songwriting.

Since I got the cd I have not stopped listening. So much melody in every song. They remind me of so many good bands I can't put my finger on who it is they like themselves. It's like a hundred awesome bands rolled into one spectacular and very special thing. "Top Of My Lungs" is my favorite though.

    Best new band in years!

An instant classic. The Voyces have THEIR OWN SOUND...AND...the songs are catchy and the lyrics are up there with the cream of the crop. They also have a song on Jack Johnson's Thicker Than Water soundtrack called "Relate To Me" and their own release called The Angels Of Fun. Both are stellar, but this new record tops all their previous work by far.

The Voyces = The best new band in ten years

I am an avid Voyces fan, and was one of many who got to hear this entire record at a listening party. "Kissing Like It's Love" is spectacular from start to finish. A must for serious music lovers.

    Captivating Music , Incredible Band!

I have seen this band several times in nyc and they are amazing! The singer has such a captivating voice and writes beautiful lyrics, the guitar player is incredible - whole band is fantastic, really good chemistry. I've heard them play the title track, Kissing like its love, and it is one of my favorite songs from them. Love Arcade and Angels of Fun are great albums - can't wait for this one to release.

    A reviewer

I got a chance to listen to a release of this CD, and I am blown away by the beautiful songs. Brian and Jude's vocal harmonies remind me of early 70's, and the entire feel of this CD just makes me happy that The Voyces are a band!!

    Kissing Like It's Love

I was fortunate enough to attend a listening party after the album was completed. Kissing Like It's Love is a beautiful piece of art. I whole-heartedly recommend this album. Just wait until you hear Humming.
