Just in time for the holidays comes the perfect winter break read! This fun, sweet, wintertime book is filled with humor and romance. The picturesque montain ski lodge is the perfect place to spend winter break...if you have a boyfriend! Otherwise, that cozy leather couch in front of the crackling fire looks a lot less inviting. Good thing that there are lots of cute, blond, sweater-wearing ski instructors around to choose from.... This fun, sweet tale of holiday romance on the slopes is the perfect wintertime read!

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Naomi Butler
Samantha thinks that Winter break is supposed to be all about romance, but she is stuck spending hers in a Vermont Inn with her dad, brother, and impossibly perfect new stepmom. Sam is determined to stay indoors and sulk—until she meets Drew. A blond, beautiful skier, Drew shows Sam how to conquer the slopes and how to kiss, but is Drew really the boy who can melt Sam's heart, or is there someone else at the lodge she should be kissing? Eric is also a helper at the lodge, and Sam finally realizes what is important in a boy and a person, and her vacation life turns around for the better. This is a good story because it truly picks up a piece of a young girl's life experiences. The family relationships also get better throughout the story, providing a fairly realistic experience in the story. There is a nice cover and easy-to-read format. The book lists other "Point Books," along with other series, and information about the author in the back of the book. Overall this is a good book. Reviewer: Naomi Butler

Gr 9 Up- Sam, 15, is not looking forward to winter break. She is stuck with her dad, brother, and new stepmom at a Vermont inn for a ski vacation but she doesn't ski. She would rather be home with her latest crush, who doesn't show the slightest interest in her, and her best friend, Phoebe. Instead she has to watch her dad and the perfectly perky Kathy together. She spends the first miserable day in the lodge by the fire. Then she meets a hot ski instructor, Drew, and decides to give the sport a chance. After a day on the slopes and a night of drinking in the hot tub, Drew turns his attention to Sam and she melts. But his intentions are not so pure, and she refuses to lose her virginity yet, especially to a ski instructor who only reads Sports Illustrated . She realizes that there might be more to Eric, kind son of the inn owner whom she catches sketching her. Sam and her friends are typical teen novel characters, and the plot moves along like a made-for-TV drama. Average fare for girls who want a light read to curl up with on a cold winter night.-Julianna M. Helt, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, PA

Sam's having a rough time of things. Her father just remarried a much younger woman and they are all together on the honeymoon in snowy Vermont. They're spending the time (together with her brother) skiing. Sam has no desire to hang out with her new stepmother, but instead might let loose herself and find her first kiss on the slopes. After a morning of sitting in the lodge, she tags along with some girls her brother met that morning. She heads to the slopes for the first time. While she does fall, she gets some private time with the mega hot ski instructor Drew. Could he be the guy she lets loose with or will someone else catch her eye? I was surprised to open this book and find VT as the setting. Since I was born there, I <3 reading books about it. Plus it's a cute story that makes me want to sit in front of the fire and reading while drinking cocoa and watching bit fat snowflakes fall softly.

This book is good it was better then some but not as great as others. Some girls over 15 might get bored with it but anyone younger will find it great. I read it in like a day to a day and a half. Over all an ok book.

I liked the story of the book and all, but there were a few things that were not summed up at the end. It is an okay book and it feels very real since the characters appear that they could be real. However, I am left wondering if there could possibly be a sequel?!

KISSING SNOWFLAKES is a very quick and easy read. It is sure to entertain any reader.

After her father marries a bubbly new wife, Samantha finds herself dragged to Vermont for winter break. As if her father's new marriage weren't enough to deal with, there was also the fact that she couldn't ski at all. So when she decides to take lessons one day, it doesn't hurt that her instructor, Drew, is a major hottie. And not only that, but he seems to have a special interest in Sam.

But suddenly Drew doesn't seem so interested in Sam anymore. And what's with that guy Eric who seems to keep showing up?

This novel is a very good read. The reader is taken to a world of winter wonderlands and holiday festivities. It's sure to leave all readers satisfied.
