Editorial Reviews

Novel Grounds - Megan Gallt
Whew. This book is hot start to finish. I am going to for sure have a hangover from this book. It strayed from the norm and kept my attention beginning to end. Its was just one of those books. An original.
Goodreads - Babes, Books, & Cheap Cabernet
Kitchen Affairs was a fun, cute, steamy read. The book literally jumps right in from the first page. A roller coaster of events unleashes an avalanche effect on the lives of Molly and Drake. This leaves them having to sort through feelings of loss, regret, despair, confusion, understanding and trust.
Goodreads - Up All Night Reviews
Just thinking about this book makes me smile. The thing I liked best about this story is the twist of Molly having a child already. You don't get that in books. It gives the fairly tale a little bit of reality to it!

    Had potential

I really wanted to love this book but I only liked it. It had a great plot but the story had tons of holes. The story was fast paced but sometimes too fast. Molly and Drake fell in love but we really didnt get to see their relationship other than them having sex. I wish the charachters were more developed so I could fall in love with them. The restaurant setting isnt something you see all the time and I enjoyed it. I think the book had great potential and I look forward to see the author grow as a writer.

    ****4 Star Review****

This was a very fast and fun book to read, I only had a few things I didn't really like.

    Here is my Review-

Molly is a 23 year old, single mother of a 4 year old little girl named Stella. She has big dreams of becoming a chef and making it on her own to give her daughter the best life she can. She is starting her last semester of culinary school and is beginning her internship at Riverside when Drake Stagliano walks in the kitchen all high and mighty.

Riverside is Drake's restaurant and manages everything about the restaurant and hotel. Ever since the first day he saw her, he wanted her. He won't give up until he has her.

There is a little love triangle with a guy named Travis. She bumped into him ended up dropping her phone and breaking it. He wanted to make it up to her by having dinner with her and asked for her number. She in turn put a wrong number into his phone so that he couldn't call her. Thinking she would never see him again. Well she was wrong. Talk about awkward, right? She didn't want to be rude but she wanted to see where things went with Drake. But he keeps showing up...

I liked the book more and more as I read on. I really want to see where this series goes. I really hope I'm not disappointed.

    What I LOVED:
    1. I loved Molly and Drake instant connection.
    2. I loved that he liked that she was a mother.
    3. He loves Stella.

    What I did not LIKE:

    1. I understand that Molly and Drake had an immediate connection but I just didn't think realistically they would have had sex so quickly. I mean she lost her Fiance Liam, years ago and hadn't dated in all that time. Molly is a single mother who would has raised her daughter on her own since she was 2 months old with the help of her best friend Michael. Molly and Drake's relationship grew so fast and I think they professed their love to each other to fast.

    2. I wish there was more build up to their love, if that makes sense. Maybe it's just me. I just feel like it all happened so fast.

    3. I know love scenes can be really hard to right sometimes but I felt like I was reading the same one over and over again with the exception of a few. I felt like a lot of the sex scenes were rushed.

    4. Sometimes I felt lost. It was almost like skimming through her thoughts. One moment she would be at her internship and then all of a sudden she was in her apartment or with drake.

    5. I wish there was more to their arguments. It seemed like once they had a minute to chill out they swept everything under the rug and were lusting over each other again.

The book started off good I mean right from the beginning Drake was all "I want Molly". I liked how this book was in a different setting then most books, but the story got boring like same oh same oh & fast pace. Too much going on....Oh I really liked Travis too!

Kitchen Affairs, the first book in Brooke Cumberland's The River

Kitchen Affairs, the first book in Brooke Cumberland's The Riverside Trilogy is a great read. Loved the chemistry and passion between Molly and Drake. Just when you think that Molly and Drake's problems are settled, Ms. Cumberland throws in another one to keep you on your feet.

My Review I absolutely adored this book and I love this series

    My Review

I absolutely adored this book and I love this series as well. This story is written so well, I loved Drake to me he is so hunkable lol I love the chemistry between him and Molly. There are so cute together, and I also love how there's a little mystery, it made the story very interesting. I love Brooke for creating a great series. I love that Molly was a single mom and basically was able to stand on her on and not want a man to help with anything. There are two more book in this series and im super excited for them.
