Editorial Reviews

Sara Browning
I was planning to renovate my cabinets and I was all set to hire a local contractor to do the work. Then, on a recommendation, I read this book. It opened my eyes to a lot of bad information that I had received. I ended up going with a different contractor and was able to get a custom set of cherry cabinets for a fraction of the original amount I was going to spend. I picked the perfect hinges, door pulls, and finish. I could not have done it without this book. Thank you Martin Stewart!

As a cabinet-maker, I see a lot of so-called kitchen "guides" which have no appreciation or understanding for the actual construction work that goes into making kitchen cabinets, or the differences in fabrication and finishing between large-scale factories and local shops. That is why it is refreshing to come across a guide that gets it right. This is a terrific book and if you are thinking of updating your kitchen cabinets, you owe it to yourself to read it.
