Overview

Climber is a feral cat who loves to climb. With his sharp little claws, he scrambles up lilac bushes and apple trees. What he really wants to do is to climb the tallest oak tree in town. No cat has ever been up it. But one day, Climber decides to try.

Emma lives in the house beside the oak tree. She likes to play in her backyard, but she often has to play alone. More than anything, she would like a kitten of her very own.

Climber climbs the tree. But getting up proves easier than climbing back down. When he gets stuck, he needs help.

Emma’s quick action proves she’s ready to take on the responsibility of a kitten. The ending is a happy one for both Climber and Emma.

This sweet, upbeat story of an intrepid kitten and a bright little girl makes perfect reading for children ages 5 to 7. It's a wonderful bedtime story for younger kids, too.
