Its a well written informative book, but i really disagree with the part about letting your cat outside. Outdoor cats do NOT only live 7 years, in fact, ive had an outdoor cat that lived for 18 years. And in human years too. If you are getting a kitten, i would reccomend this book, but keep in mind that a bit of the thing written whernt based on fact, but opinion.

Dusty has covered all the aspects of rescuing and raising kittens in an easy to read and often humorous book. Last spring I volunteered to help a local kitten rescue group out in a pinch with a couple of kittens and eventually ended up caring for 13 cute little guys and girls (from 5 different litters) over about 6-7 months. I received Dusty's book as a thank you gift from the cat rescue group leader for Christmas... boy did I wish I had known about it earlier... It covered lots of issues I had to learn about the hard way. I am even looking forward to this year's kitten season now that I am armed with new knowledge courtesy of Kittens for Dummies! Even if you think you know about all about the care of cats and kittens, you will find the information in this book current and valuable. Dusty provides useful and easily understandable information on medications, emergency care, behavior problems, and much, much more. It is an excellent volume to have in your home reference library because you never know when a lost or orphaned feline will arrive on your doorstep!
