Overview

A story of hope and second chances in Regency London.

Kitty Bennet is finished with love and romance. She lost her one-time fiancé in the Battle of Waterloo, and in the battle’s aftermath saw more ugliness and suffering than she could bear. Staying with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner in London for the winter, Kitty throws her energies into finding a husband for her hopelessly bookish sister Mary, and discovering whatever mysterious trouble is worrying her sister Jane. But then she meets Mr. Lancelot Dalton, a handsome clergyman with a shadowed past—and discovers that though she may be finished with love, love may not be at all finished with her.

Kitty Bennet’s Diary is Volume 3 of the Pride and Prejudice Chronicles. It can be read alone, but refers to events from Volumes 1 and 2.

This was an enjoyable take on Kitty Bennet's fate after Pride and Prejudice. The plot is based on Jane Austen's own supposition of what Kitty's future would have been. Clever and generally true to Austen and her writing.

Another great sequel to Jane Austin's work by Anna Elliott! Ok, I’ll admit . . . Kitty and Mary were not my favorites in Austin’s “Pride & Prejudice”, but in this book, with Anna Elliot’s talent for character development, they come alive again for us and we get to see them mature into women of character and passion. And I found out I really liked them! What a delightful book, and so interesting to learn more about London society and European social customs of that era. Having finished these 3 books that follow up “Pride and Prejudice”, I can’t wait to read “Margaret Dashwood’s Diary” in Elliott’s follow-up to “Sense and Sensibility”. Thank you, Anna Elliot, for sharing your gift with us.

I really enjoyed how Kitty has evolved from silly flirt to a serious and mature young lady.

All 3 books of the series were fantastic. Hard to believe they were not written by Jane Austin herself.

I have loved all of these books. I think we need something from Lizzie perhaps about her life an marriage to Mr. Darc

Because I'm a fan of Jane Austen, I was hesitant to read anything described as a "sequel." But Anna Elliott and her Pride and Prejudice Chronicles proved to be very entertaining.
