The young, inexperienced knight and the bumbling, insecure dragon decide to meet on the battle field. The outcome is not a pretty sight, so the intelligent castle librarian comes to the rescue and shows them how they can use their special talents together for good. The comic book style layout is perfect for this almost wordless picture book. DePaola's illustrations are full of action and slapstick humor to match the story. 1998 (orig.

My grandson, age 4, and I have read and re-read this book. Each time we read it, we find more things to observe and more 'events' to enjoy. We laugh together, and have even 're-enacted' several scenes during our outdoor play. This is truly a delightful book, and one which puts a new twist on the concept of 'a knight and a dragon!'

Even though this is bascially a picture book with few words, my third graders loved it! We found it by happy accident in the library one day while looking for books by author Tomie De Paola. We giggled and laughed, we enjoyed the illustrations, and, believe it or not, we read it together four times before I returned it to the library. I will definitely be adding this book to my own private library. What a treasure!

This is the cutest story ever!! The illustrations do a lot of the talking and the end result is so funny but a great solution to the problem! I have enjoyed reading a lot of the books written and illustrated by the author. it is one I will need to add to my collection for the classroom. It teaches a great lesson to the kids too.

I remember The Knight And The Dragon, from when I was very young. I thought it was wonderous, and sometimes I still read it for the illustrations. This author was always my favorite when I was little, and The Knight and The Dragon is the best of his work.
