Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
William lives in England and it is early in the fifteenth century. His father is a knight and he too wants to become a brave fighter. At the age of seven he leaves home to live in another castle where he serves as a page. After years of menial tasks, he also trains at the skills of knighthood and learns to care for the castle knights' armor and armaments. William also learns social graces including music and dance. This nonfiction early reader will be a real treat for young readers. It is made interesting by following the life of young William as he moves from page to squire in pursuit of his dream of knighthood.
