If you feel that working with fine yarns take too long, are limited to lace and scarves, or are difficult to deal with, this book will free you of that notion.

KLIATT - Shirley Reis
Lightweight yarns have a bad reputation with knitters because they are slow to knit with and fussy to deal with, and in the past they have been limited to socks and lace. This book dispels myths about thin yarns and features more than 20 stylish designs using lightweight yarns. Thin yarn allows garments to fit more precisely, flatter the figure, and feel better against the skin. Garments made from thin yarn are great for layering and offer more versatility for fashion elements. An introductory section includes information about what exactly fine yarn is, some of the authors' favorite skinny yarns, comparison of length of stitch in skinny versus thick yarns, needles and other necessities. The authors have a great deal of experience with many varieties of yarn through owning yarn shops as well as publishing designs in stitching magazines and online. The projects are perfect for all skill levels. Each project includes a color photograph of the finished project, detailed instructions for completion, special notes about unique aspects of the project and a scaled pattern with size dimensions. This book will change previous perceptions about skinny yarn and inspire knitters with its delightful and flattering contemporary patterns. Reviewer: Shirley Reis
