Overview

Capelets, cowls, and collars-whether in a chunky knit or dainty lace-have been storming the runways for the past few seasons, but knitting books have been slow to pick up the trend. This collection of 25 knitted projects is the first to focus exclusively on beautifying the neck and shoulders. There are romantic capelets that float and flutter about, bold collars, and high-drama cowls that frame the face when worn slipped over the head or that drape elegantly when pushed down. With these projects-done up in a variety of yarns with simple stitches and techniques such as cabling-knitters of all skill levels will soon see how so little fabric can convey so much.

exquisite designs for capelets and cowls. I have not started knitting them yet but my vacation will be busy. Really unusual designs.

The finished pieces in the photos are wonderful, but I knitted five projects from this book and found mistakes in three of the patterns. In most cases I was able to figure out corrections and finish, but one project I had to abandon altogether. So...great designers, sloppy editing. Proceed with caution.

Cute modern stylish designs. Many are easy or intermediate, perfect for an advanced beginner like me. Several I want to make, even though I didnt think I was a capelet or cowl type of person. Many also use the thicker yarns which are my favorite. Should be a good way to add interest to my plainer tops.
