Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Knitwear designer McTague (Knits for Children and Their Teddies) turns her attention to knitted toys with this collection of 20 colorful designs. Beginning knitters will enjoy making a simple but fetching penguin as well as the farm animal finger puppets, while intermediate knitters will want to tackle the colorful patchwork turtle. More challenging projects for experienced knitters include rag dolls, a clown complete with its own wardrobe, and a large dog that doubles as a draft protector. Each pattern contains step-by-step instructions and multiple close-up photos. Yarn substitutions should not be a problem: although the author specifies yarns used in each project, she gives enough information to make substitutions possible. The book belongs on public library shelves next to Kath Dalmeny's World of Knitted Toys and Debbie Bliss's Toy Knits. Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
