Library Journal
Have you seen those advertisements that say "this is the only book you'll ever need on this subject"? This new volume by Budd isn't the only knitting book you'll ever need, but one could knit hundreds of different mittens, gloves, socks, sweaters, vests, hats, and scarves from just the patterns found here. Budd is managing editor of the popular magazine Interweave Knits, and this is the book she wished she had when she worked in a yarn store and customers requested patterns made for their size with yarns available in the shop. The patterns allow the knitter to create garments in any size from toddler to extra-large adult in any weight of yarn, from fingering to bulky. The knitter has only to knit a generous swatch with yarn and needles of her/his choice and plug the resulting gauge information into the charted instructions and schematics provided. Highly recommended for all knitting collections. Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.

Finally, A very useful book for all times and knits

I bought this book sight unread and hit the jackpot! It is always with my knitting bag. Any sweater in any guage with charts that are easily read.No more mathmatical equations to match your yarn to the pattern's requirement.Easy for the novice knitter but also a great starting point to more complex projects. From mittens to cardigans, they are all there. Easy to read and a sturdy little book to take the wear it gets!

    My Ideal Knitting Book.

Sometimes I just want to knit the basics. Hats and scarves in perfectly becoming colors to keep my grandchildren warm, for example. This book shows me how! Not only that, I've never before knit mittens (for example), and Ann Budd's book describes how to do it in a way that's easy to understand. It's as though I wanted to drive from my home to a city 500 miles away, and Budd is telling me what to expect along the way. I'm so thrilled to have this that I may just keep it under my pillow so that I'll know I can always have Budd's wisdom handy.

    Essential For Book Collection

This book is practically a necessity for any knitter. The patterns are laid out simply, and allow a knitter's creativity to make the pattern come alive in any way they can imagine. Whether you're a new knitter or have years of experience, are trendy or old-fashioned, female or male knitter -- the treasure trove in this book cannot be ignored.

    The perfect knitting book

This book is fantastic. It provides a basic pattern for the most commonly knit items and gives you easy to read charts so you can make them for any size or age. The patterns are plain so it's easy to manipulate them to add your own personal touches. I love it.

    Perfect for stash-busting

If you're a serious knitter, you've got a yarn stash. This book not only has great basic patterns, but it gives you the numbers for lots of sizes and gauges. Makes it easy to shop your stash and come up with a great gift. With a little imagination and yarn you already have, you're on your way. The instructions are clear, and there are lots of tips to personalize each design.

I have been wanting this book forever!

This will be a valuable resourse for my knitting projects. The format is a little hard to understand at first, but becomes clearer with use. Ann Budd has hit the mark with this book for knitters who knit for people of all different sizes. Awesome addition to my knitting library!
