Highly recommended

I love this book. The pictures are great and the patterns are both written and charted which I love. The patterns are great for knitters to want instant gratification. It is a great book for beginners because of the written directions and charts.

What a book! the patterns are delightful and run the whole range

What a book! the patterns are delightful and run the whole range of skill levels. The instructions are well written which is what we can count on in books by Nicky Epstein.
One thing I really like about her books is that she uses yarn colors for the pictures that are NOT garish, but easy to see, which is so helpful for beginners! (I used to teach knitting).
Many of the patterns could easily be modified to make all kinds of things, especially scarves. An advanced knitter can use many of these patterns as a stitch guide to be worked linearlly into many projects.

    I recommend this book!

    A must for knitters!

Nicky's block by block is wonderful! I originally bought the hard cover book. Nook book is so convenient and I don't have to carry a heavy book with me.

I am a fan of Nicky's work. If you ever have a chance to take a class from her, do it! She's a phenomenal teacher. I've taken her class at Pgh. Knit and Crochet festival. Will take her class again this year!

Her book is the next best thing to being there. Her instructions are clear and the pictures are great.

    Blockhead - Chapter Two

Okay. So I was trapped out in a pixelated wilderness at night. Big deal.

But cute woodland creatures were not living beyond the trees like the kind in that movie 'Bambi.' Blood-sucking zombies were prowling around. Oh, what the heck? Skeletons with bows and arrows, too. And spiders as big as I was. Not to mention green creepers that looked like cactus's that exploded. Or what did my biology teacher say? Cacti. Right. But that wasn't the point. I was going to die!

What would it be like? Would I just respawn and be okay? Would it hurt?

It's hard for a guy to admit this...but I was scared. I started walking. Then....I heard it. An arrow landed on a cliff in front of me. I heard the clank of bones. Holy crap!!

My dying sword and a block of wool was all I had to defend myself. And skeletons are PROS when it comes to killing. And staying alive. I hurriedly ran up the cliff and bolted for a cave. No! There was a huge spider there. He jumped on me, his spiny legs and fangs sinking into my body. "Ow!" I yelled aloud. That hurt like HECK. I was so shocked from the pain I had forgotten about my skeleton friend. An arrow shot through my body. Then, everything went black.
