Library Journal
Today's knitter has a wealth of project books to choose from when knitting for the new baby. Knitted garments for the expectant mother, however, are few and far between. In this richly illustrated pattern book, Knight (New Knits) offers 20 projects for the intermediate knitter, including seven garments for the expectant mother along with sweaters, blankets, and toys for baby. The garments are stylish as well as convenient. For example, for Mom there is a hooded cardigan with a double-ended zipper so that it can be zipped open from the bottom as the pregnancy progresses. Also included are detailed descriptions of each yarn, which makes substitutions less of a chore. Buy for larger public libraries and for small public libraries where demand warrants.
