    Nicky Does It Again! A Great Reference Book

    What's the difference between 'home made' and 'hand knit'? It's the fit and 'finish' of the garment. The fit comes with experience, but the finish, like a flourish, changes the knitwear from something that looks good to a product that looks professionally designed and expensive--and that flourish is exactly what you'll get with 'Knitting Over the Edge'. Nicky's second reference book of beautifully photographed edging and 'finishes' expands the knitter's repetoire from simple fringes and lace to I-cords with knots, ties and floating 'donuts.' Nicky adds Intarsia (mixed color) edges in this book, along with flowers, leaves and roses that can be appliqued to the edges. A final section of 'Noveau' edges provide innovative, funky, and highly textured edging. Simple, straightforward instructions placed next to swatches of edging will be helpful to both the fairly new and experienced knitter. This is not a pattern book of finished garments, but a reference book containing edging swatches, designs and patterns. Nicky does provide several 'full' patterns of sample garments including the pink, rose fringed capelet featured on the cover of this beautiful book. Make your next knitted work, a work of art with edges of distinction! 'Knitting Over the Edge' and Nicky's first book 'Knitting On the Edge' will make that possible!

    Creative and beautiful ideas

    This book has so many patterns to knit, and it is beautifully and simply presented. It has guides and helpful information for beginners, like me, and fresh, inovative patterns for experts, like my Mom.
