Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
Contrary to popular opinion, men have been knitting for centuries; 16th-century European knitting guilds limited membership to male knitters required to study for six years. In this straightforward guide to knitting for men (or the women who knit for them), Del Vecchio (cofounder, MenKnit.net) teaches basic techniques, how to alter and design knitting patterns, and the elements of knitting math. The book's greatest selling point for public libraries, however, is its collection of 22 patterns for accessories, sweaters, jackets, and home gear. Projects are graded by difficulty level and include an Aran (a.k.a. "fisherman") pullover, hiking boot socks, and even a beer cozy. Consider for public libraries where demand warrants.
