Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Roney, cofounder of the Knot, a wedding resource web site (www.theknot.com), has authored yet another no-nonsense wedding book that pays special attention to questions only a mother would ask about etiquette, beauty, party planning, and budgeting. The discussion begins around the engagement and takes readers all the way through the postwedding brunch. Roney demystifies the planning process while emphasizing communication to keep things running smoothly. Writing of both traditional and modern options, the author helps a mother understand which decisions and tasks are the domain of the wedding couple, and which things she can legitimately orchestrate (or delegate to others). Certainly on par with the advice given by another wedding maven, Sharon Naylor in The Mother-of-the-Bride Book: Giving Your Daughter a Wonderful Wedding, this guide lacks the humor of Leslie Milk's It's Her Wedding, but I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride. Similar books for this audience appear periodically, but this is certainly an authoritative, current resource. Recommended for public libraries.-Bonnie Poquette, Boerner Botanical Gardens Lib., Milwaukee Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
