Overview

God knows your name. Do you know His?

Throughout Scripture we read how men and women faced storms, tests and trials. Many failed; others overcame the buffeting and walked paths of faith and courage. They became convinced of God's protection, care, discipline and loving guidance.

What made the difference?

David Wilkerson teaches that those who were victorious in their struggles discovered a deeper revelation of God's nature and character: They knew Him by name! And we can, too. Weaving biblical teaching and personal anecdotes, Wilkerson shows us what these godly people learned. Offering more than theological comprehension, he will help you get to know your heavenly Father on a heart-to-heart level.

Are you convinced that God holds your life and well-being in your hands? Do you long to know Him as your healer or provider? Can you imagine the peace that comes from the knowledge of His presence? He has pledged to keep you, teach you, put His fear in you, cause you to walk in His ways, give you His Holy Spirit and blot out all your sins and replace them with His lovingkindness. All of this awaits you from the One who longs for you to know Him by name.

Too often as Christians we find ourselves searching for answers when our faith wavers and God appears to be so far away. We go to church only to find that they are so busy with programs and looking for people to work them that you can't get the answers you are searching for. Even God himself can't reach people because His servants are too busy doing other things. This book has really been an inspiration to me. It has given me insights that I never thought about even reading the word of God. This book draws out and clarifies many of the events and Godly lessons that God taught the Israelite people. Many of which applies to us today. Many Christians struggle with faith because they don't know God and His character. We often think of Him as a God who merely performs miracles but we fail to know Him. This book will help you to get to know the character and person He truely is and once you gain that knowledge your faith will grow and become firm even in the face of difficult times and all your questions will be answered. If you are and have struggled in your faith, this book is for you. It can also be a tool for teaching others.

This book has been a great resource to explain the history of names given to God. It's timeline of events paints a clearer picture of how all of these names relate to one another. I think that it would be a wonderful addition to a religious library. It is easy for the lay person to read while encouraging interest into specific events that brought about those names.
