For anyone who remembers the classic Avalon Hill board games (Tactics II, Afrika Korps, Waterloo) this will be a real treat. The rules are short and clear, and after a quick read-through it is easy to just start playing: the interface largely takes care of reminding you what to do next. Play balance is good. Play time is a quick hour or two for 30 turns. Playing via the machine easily adds the feature of concealing most hostile units, which improves the challenge. I hope more historical conflicts can be covered using the same platform.

    Awesome

Excellent sim I have forgotten I have other games on my Nook. When you update it will you make run longer than 30 turns? I Thought I read in the instructions that you could move from a port above enemy lines to create a pincer movement but I was unable to move onto water. Obviously I am missing a Navy.

Nicely done, brings back some memories...

Of old PC / Avalon Hill games. (My first computer was a Sinclair 1000, then a Commodore 64) :)

Not to hard to follow. Strength on bottom left and movement on bottom right. South has to protect at least one port until the Allies come. Drop Allies off at port cities. Move pieces from port city to port city (via hidden fleet), hit hard. Don't hit Pyonyang too early. Chinese only arrive if the north is invaded. Specifically Pyonyang captured. Use air strikes wisely.
North ties to get port cities before Allies arrive, if not, back off and utilize Chinese units to overwhelm. No movement via port.

Good historic rendition, especially in light of current events.

Author was helpful. Other games in series are also good for $1-$2 each if you like strategy and don't mind reading the instructions! Although the Gettyburg, Bull Run, and Rommel in Africa suit me better than the two Napoleon ones. Bull Run (free), hung after a few days of use.
