    Kristin Knits is Inspirational

This is the most inspiring knitting book I've come across in a long time. Each design is features an explosion of color -- pinks and oranges and greens and purples -- combinations I would never have thought of but that look fantastic. There are several scarf patterns and one afghan pattern, and patterns for hats, mittens, socks, and sweaters. Many designs include innovative embroidery embellishments as well. I've made one hat and almost all the sock patterns already. The directions are thorough and easy to follow. All of the socks are made of worsted weight yarn, while many sock knitters like to use a finer gauge. The only other slight down-side is that each sock pattern from the heel down is almost exactly the same except for the colors, yet pages of the same step by step instructions are given every time. This makes the book pretty beginner-friendly, but the directions could have referred back and those pages could have been used for another design! Not only do I enjoy recreating Kristin's designs, but this book has inspired me to work on my own variations and to get more adventurous in my color choices and embellishments.
