Overview

The purpose of this work is not the enunciation of any special philosophy or doctrine, but rather is to give to the students a statement of the Truth that will serve to reconcile the many bits of occult knowledge that they may have acquired, but which are apparently opposed to each other and which often serve to discourage and disgust the beginner in the study. Our intent is not to erect a new Temple of Knowledge, but rather to place in the hands of the student a Master-Key with which he may open the many inner doors in the Temple of Mystery through the main portals he has already entered.

Meet the Author

The authors of The Kybalion chose to remain anonymous and went by the name, "Three Initiates," probably because they knew the information it contained could not be attributed to any one person. The fact that they chose the name, "Three Initiates," suggests that they may have undergone some type of initiation into the knowledge of which they wrote. Because of their anonymity, speculation has arisen as to their identity. The names put forth by various circles include William Walker Atkinson, Paul Foster Case, Michael Whitty, Ann Davies, Mabel Collins, and others. Regardless, the authors left us with a philosophical gem.

This book will not leave you satisfied, but looking for more.

When I first read reviews about this book before I ordered it I was very excited. As I began reading I was cautious not to jump to conclusions and make assumptions too quick because I really wanted this book to sink in. It is divided by the principles and clearly explains each one in depth. I read it in less than a couple days and trust me, you will need to reread it again and pace yourself for the effectiveness because it does require pondering. This is not just a book you read and are done with, because I have looked back in many parts of it multiple times. This truly is a mind opener and extremely enlightening. I'm going to get my hands on more books about Hermeticism because it has intrigued me and is a grand book to discuss with those who are ready to learn.

    A reviewer

A difficult to find mystical book by The Three Inititiates. If you have studied The Secret Doctrines you will like this little work based upon the world-old Hermetic Teachings. Helps student to reconcile many bits of occult knowledge.
