CriticasPreS-Gr 1-Nocturnal animals, which are common but seldom seen, are a good subject for this nonfiction series. The short books feature large type and an easy Q&A format. Each title asks and answers the same set of inquiries regarding the animals, such as what they eat, where they sleep, and what kind of sounds they make. The photographs are excellent, and illustrate the text well, even when the subject is less than attractive. Unfortunately, the raccoon book also includes a typographical error, putting an "o" instead of an "e" at the end of "come." It seems to be an isolated mistake, as there were no noticeable problems in the other two volumes. Recommended for school and public libraries.
