Children's LiteratureIn this very simple Spanish language picture book, realistic illustrations and a very brief, lively text portray some of the many possible uses and activities that young children can engage in with their toes. Appealing pastel illustrations show multiethnic children (and one dog) using their toes in activities such as: stretching, splashing, scratching, dancing, drawing, and even fishing. The simple repetitive text makes this book useful for a beginning Spanish reader, as well as a good read aloud for Spanish-speaking and bilingual listeners. Both text and illustrations do a great job of portraying some of the universal joys of childhood. 2004, Charlesbridge, Ages 1 to 6.
