Booknews
This is a transcription of Harari's 1987 seminar upon the subject(s) of Lacan's unpublished seminar , delivered from 1962-63, which was perhaps the cause of Lacan's exclusion from the approved list of training psychoanalysts in his own society. Harari provides insight into Lacan's reexamination of his earlier thinking on the mirror stage, especially that regarding the imaginary body, the dialectic of recognition in relation to the other, Hegel's dialectic, and the area of object relations. Harari is a Buenos Aires psychoanalyst, author of 16 books and more than 200 articles. This is his first volume translated into English. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
