Purpose: The purpose is to provide athletes, trainers, and sports physicians the technical information necessary for optimizing training strategies and improving performance. Acclimation techniques are explained in detail and multiple races and workouts are analyzed and evaluated. These features provide the reader with insights into the complex physiological interactions occurring during athletic competitions.
Audience: The book is intended for athletes and trainers involved in endurance sports where maximal exertion is required. Although the primary focus is cycling, the basic principles can be applied to all endurance sports.
