Overview

Former vampire hunter Michael Quinn is living a nightmare: he's been turned into a vampire. His only hope is the "Eye"--a long-lost artifact that, once every millennium, will grant one wish to its possessor. Fortunately for Quinn, he has a map detailing the path to the "Eye." All he needs to do is find it, then he can wish himself back into humanity.
Janie Parker has made a lot of many mistakes in her life, not the least of which was getting tricked into working for a demon. Not only is the pay awful, but she has to successfully complete all her unsavory assignments or risk a torturous death. Her latest mission is to track a vampire who apparently knows where some stupid treasure is. No problem. Until she sees who the vampire is -- Michael Quinn, a man she's had a crush on since she was twelve years old. Too bad she'll have to kill him to get to the "Eye."
But Quinn and Janie are kindred spirits, and soon they're falling in love even though they're after what the other person is desperate for: the "Eye".

    Clever Sexy Fun Vamp Story

A clever, fun, sexy vampire novel suitable for teens and up. Not too deep into vampire culture or romance, just likeable characters (particularly Quinn) and funny situations. I like Quinn's humorous approach to life, or paranormal existence. He jokes around about things more than most vampires who take it all so seriously or wickedly. He's pretty cool. Janie is, like most women in these novels, too unwilling to let anyone know she likes someone. I don't know why these women are more worried about being rejected than killed. lol

Sizzling romance and a load of laughs

Michlle Rowen is a talented author, capable of combining romance and humor. Normally I do not read vampire books. As a child, ¿Dark Shadows¿ traumatized me. Barnabas and his long fangs gave me nightmares. However, I digress I could not resist Lady & the Vamp. This is book 3 of the Immortal Bites Series. This book stands alone. Lady & the Vamp has it all--romance, humor, mystery, suspense, and a werewolf. Janie and Quinn join forces to find the Ruby Eye. An evil villain wants the eye, so that he can rule the world. Lady & the Vamp is entertaining. This makes a great summer read.

    Awesome tale of the supernatural

Micahel Quinn, Michelle Rowen's tormented hunter-turned-vampire from 'Bitten and Smitten' and 'Fanged and Fabulous', is back, returning to the scene with would-be Alpha werewolf Barkley and badass mercenary blonde Janie Parker. Now he's on a quest of his own -- to cute his nocturnal and blood-drinking afflictions with a mystical object known as the Eye. But the Eye is sought after by Parker's Boss, who has his own, unknown, nefarious purposes to contend with. Quinn and Parker's sagas soon overlap in a hot, desert tale of lust and blood drenched in danger from the start. From the sands and abandoned mining towns of Arizona to the high-rolling glamour of Las Vegas do we follow our fang-crossed protagonists, and never are we let down. I have never been even close to disappointed by any of Rowen's books before, but I must say -- 'Lady and the Vamp' might have to be one of my favorites by this amazing author. I have yet to not love any of her wonderful characters, and her level of development in this novel is, simply put, fantastic. Characters have never felt so three-dimensional, and they're all so damned lovable! Rowen's fantasy universe, believable and rich all in one, never ceases to amaze. She never manages to forget to answer the natural questions readers ask of her world-building as they go through the story, unlike so many authors who think they can glide by with only hot content and weakly laid-out universe to write in. 'Lady and the Vamp', like Rowen's other books, stands alone well enough, though naturally it's a great deal richer when 'Bitten and Smitten' and 'Fanged and Fabulous' are read first. On the other hand, it doesn't give gobs of the other two away, so if you start with 'Lady and the Vamp', you're still in fairly good shape. I was, fan of Michelle Rowen's writing that I am, delightedly pleased to see the small but undeniable tie to her solo-standing (non-vampire) fantasy novel, 'Angel With Attitude'. It's fun to see that, indeed, the events in both novel-lines are in the same universe, and unlike so many authors who bog their worlds down in far-spreading minutiae of paranormal society within the first five pages of Book One, Rowen is a thousand times more focused, taking time to introduce her various preternatural breeds. Thusly, instead of being an information overload and headache, the wide-spreading cosmos is appreciated. And now, perhaps we can hope for cameos from 'Angel With Attitude' characters... I was also surprised -- though certainly not dismayed -- to see how hot 'Lady and the Vamp' is! Fans of the heavier romance who may have shied away from the first two books for their lack of heavy 'mature' content, will love this book -- along with those who still love the author's flare for well-driven plot. This book bites you, hangs on, and you never want it to let go. I whole-heartedly recommend it to any fan of modern fantasy.

    Paranormally Fantastic

Michelle Rowen's latest novel, Lady and The Vamp (book #3 in the Immortality Bites series, though this can be read as a stand-alone) features a conflicted former vampire hunter turned vamp, Quinn, and a mercenary killer named Janie who are both after the same thing-an artifact known as The Eye. Getting The Eye is a matter of life or death to both of them, but neither expects to find the other as appealing as capturing their prize. The path to this undead happily-ever-after, however, hardly runs smooth. Janie's facing the wrath of the boss from hell (literally) and searching for her longlost sister whose life is endangered, and Quinn's good pal (and traveling companion) Barkley is a psychic werewolf who can't stay in form. Pair that with a not-so dead mentor from Quinn's past who won't rest until he possesses what Quinn and Janie want most and soon, this road to true love's filled with stakes, as well as bumps. If you want to read a lighthearted paranormal that's as funny as it is sexy, then Lady and The Vamp will have you howling long into the night.

    lighthearted romantic urban fantasy

Dedicated vampire hunters never feared death something they faced on every mission they worry about being converted to the monstrosities that they hunt. Former vampire hunter Michael Quinn knows first hand the dread of becoming what he killed as he has become a blood sucking predator. --- His only hope to return to human and his previous occupation is to make a wish on a magical relic the Eye. However, demon obligated assassin Janie Parker also seeks the Eye to keep her Boss from decapitating her for now and find her missing sister. She knows Michael, whom she has loved unrequitedly since she was a tweener, seeks the artifact. She also knows there is one drawback with the Eye it can only grant one wish once every millennia. --- Fans will enjoy this lighthearted romantic urban fantasy as Michael and Janie compete for the Eye with each believing their cause worthier than that of their rival. The amusing story line is fast-paced from the onset as the former vampire slayer turned hungry biter and the former adulator turned failed assassin fight, snipe and love each other in the latest Michelle Rowen Immortality Bites tales (see FANGED & FABULOUS, and BITTEN & SMITTEN). --- Harriet Klausner
