Meet the Author

How many get the chance to be able to say that they've done exactly what they've always wanted to do? I am truly blessed.

I am an author, graphic designer, editor, and teacher of over 15 years, and along the way had started a family. I've been writing since high school, when a red pen was the universal sign for a mistake, not a squiggly line. (I will be buried with a red pen in my hand.) Having written several different genres of books but finding traditional publishing industry to be tear inducing, I abandoned my lifelong desire to be a published author and focused on my children.

A few years back, I bought myself an iPod, and found ... self-publishing. I still read voraciously, and with the indie and self-publishing revolution hitting traditional paper books on the back of the head, I began to hope. Thrilled with the prospect of finally getting my books published, because the voices just won't leave me alone, I formatted my files for eBooks, created the covers, and uploaded... and my life hasn't been the same since.

The name Julie L. York is for anything fantasy, paranormal, science-fiction, historicals...
The name Julie King York is specific to Christian...

    nice light read

this book was a little over 200 pages. It didn't have a lot of substance to it but it was a entertaining read. It was easy to figure out the ending of the story rather quickly.

I like the heroine- she is not a flower wilting in a too-hot bal

I like the heroine- she is not a flower wilting in a too-hot ballroom, refreshing for a historical romance! Yes, it's a little short and thus not overly complex, but it's also free. Besides, this way we don't have to deal with contrived misunderstandings or overreactions just to make the book longer. Definitely romance, not religion or erotica. And definitely not a waste of time. :)

    Nice story

This was a nice story, but I would have liked a little more. I was disappointed that it ended so soon. Lady Bryn is a strong woman which was nice.
The editor really needs to do a better job of editing. There were a lot of missing words, poor word choices (maybe spellcheck gone awry?), and just strange sentence structure. It drove me crazy.

    Too short...

I was left feeling the need for more to help close the book! It is a wonderful read, besides wanting more. I kept flipping the pages to see if there was more at the end, but of course there wasn't. I give it 4 stars and I recommend it because it is capturing, and I simply love romances. I agree that there was not a lot of depth to this book, but overall enjoyable.

    sweet love story

I enjoyed this book, which surprised me at first. From the very beginning I thought I'd have issues with the adultery thing, but that actually got worked out pretty well for me. I like the characters, and only wish there had been a little more.

    Predictable

This book is a good way to spend a few hours reading, but it's predictable.

    Good read

I really like the idea behind this book with a twist but I wished the characters could come together again in a more dramatic, sexy event or series of events. This is a really good book though and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes reading romance.

    Adr

This story is only 161 pages long. The first 3/4 of it was very slow and seemed as though written by an 8th grader. The later portion was written after gaining further education. This author needs to do quite a bit of editing and take out some of the fluff, put in more face time with the characters.
