This is a very romantic read! I was so invested in the characters and felt their struggle so keenly-the ending was definitely satisfying. And the story was hot enough to steam up my windows-whew!

Fate works in wicked ways, so do little sisters.
Rowena has been widowed now for 3 years and has resigned herself to widowhood at her young age. She has decided to get out and travel with her sister Delphine to their friend Alice's place since she is expecting. Once there, Rowena hears that, Simon, Alice's brother will be joining them for the visit. Rowena is unsure of what to do...Simon was her first love and her rejection from Simon all those years ago still hurt. Can she deal with seeing him again? How will she feel about him?
Simon has been away for a long time fighting in the war over in India and has returned to take over for his ailing uncle and help care for his sister. This is also a perfect time to see if he has waited long enough to seek out his first and only love, Rowena. Will she still care? Does she even wonder about him any longer? Can he forgive her for marrying his best friend in his absence?
I absolutely loved these characters! From the bad-mannered l¿il sister Delphine, Rowena the young widow battling with her emotions, to the ever so handsome Simon. I fell for Simon hard! He had me all twisted up with his gentle caring and feverish need for Rowena.
This seems like a light sweet romance at first then all the twists and turns start to play out and you see that things aren't what they seemed, but thankfully fate with a lilttle help from little sisters has a way of putting things right.
When you look at this gorgeous cover you think... Ok this is a historical romance, some like historical and some don't. I'm a closet lover of historical but I will proudly be SCREAMING... "GET YOUR COPY TODAY" you do not need to be a lover of historical to enjoy this book while Vivienne Westlake does a great job of taking us to this place and time. It was such an enjoyable read, I wasn't concentrating on the historical aspects as much as I was so enthralled by the story itself.
