    Lagoonbreeze's Quest &starf Prologue

"Freshpool!" Powerstar's voice sounded far away. But Freshpool couldn't help her mate, now. Not in this terrible blizzard. Because she was dying. From cold, hunger, pain, and blood-loss. Pawsteps crashed through the ice-coated snow. "Oracleglow?" Freshpool whispered weakly. Her boved fried'd muzzle brushed hers. "Yes, Freshpool?" She asked gently. "Oracleglow . . . tell Powerstar . . . and my dear Lagoonkit . . . especially Legendmist . . . that I have always known them as my precious kin . . . and that I thought that I would be with them until the hairs of my muzzle turned gray with old age . . . and that I said good-bye. Good-bye my dear friend . . . SarClan is calling me . . ." Freshpool's voice faded away. Oracleglow bit her lip. "Yes. I will tell them, my dear friend . . ." Tears filled her gentle blue eyes. "May StarClan guide your paws." She turned as slow tears-drops dripped off her muzzle. "Freshpool!" Powerstar's call was more fear-filled than last time. Oracleglow raced toward her brother's call. Powerstar's black pelt slowly came to view. Oracleglow's thought clouded with horror when she blinked through the sheet of falling ice an snow. Her brother was looming over a blue cat. "Legendmist is dead!" Powerstar wailed. Oracleglow's horror was replaced by fury. "Why did StarClan have to take Freshpool too?" She asked, half to herself. Powerstar looked at his sister, shocked. "Freshpool is dead?" He asked, anger edging his mew. A green-blue kitten ducked his head out from behind Legendmist's body. "Wh-where's Mama?" He mewed, obvioously frightened by the sudden blizzard. "Lagoonkit . . . she's gone." Those were the only thruthful words that Oracleglow could use without breaking the kit's fragile heart. "Dead?" Lagoonkit gasped. "Never . . . will my life be the same again." Powerstar closed his eyes against the snow as he grabbed Legendmist's freezing scruff. "Lagoonkit, follow me back to camp." He ordered, his sharp tone muffled by his brother's fur. The two toms strted over the rise, trudging on until Oracleglow could see them no more. She sighed. She would not let any harsh or sad word get to Lagoonkit's heart AGAIN.

    Allright

This book lacked what Mathews other books had. I enjoyed his other books far more than this one. It did start good like the other reviewer said. I think it dragged on to mutch and kept skipping from character to character a lot, very distracting.
