    ?

    >> I read the first book and it was okay. Hoped for better out of book two. Sadly disappointed! Between the characters constantly yelling to each other while zombies are on the loose- to each character being caught by zombies numerous times without so much as a scratch; the credibility is strained too far. Lack of descriptives also became an issue. Zombies 'reaching and groaning' must have been written 20 or more times. Despite the main characters easily avoiding being grappled every ten pages; any person they come against is grabbed and bitten. The whole premise at the zoo could have led to a cool story, unfortunately, this book just got worse as each chapter passed. The frustration at all the annoyances made this an unpleasant book to read.

If you like Zombies books, you'll love this

Lakewood Memorial is one of the best Zombie stories I've read in some time. The zombies are Romero-esque (my favorite) and the story has enough gore, humor, sentiment and explosions to satisfy seasoned readers and zombie fiction newbies. In all of the zokmbie books I've read (300 and counting) this is in my top 5!!!

    more from this reviewer

not a lot of depth but pretty intense!

Lakewood Memorial: Violent. Fun. Gruesome. Perhaps a bit superficial. Gory. Entertaining. Fast paced. These statements all describe Lakewood Memorial.

This book is basically about the takeover of a small town by zombies. It's blood-soaked good fun! There's a small group of main characters and we see the takeover from each of their perspectives. I liked that. And I liked the characters. There wasn't much depth to the cast or the story but there was enough excitement and the pace was so frenzied that it didn't really matter. From the first page the reader is thrown right into the action and it never lets up! If you want some hard core zombie killing action then I suggest you pick up Lakewood Memorial. If not....what's wrong with you?
