Meet the Author

Curtis Seltzer is a 64-year-old land consultant and writer who lives on a cattle-and-timber farm in Blue Grass, Virginia. He is author of How To Be a DIRT-SMART Buyer of Country Property (2007) and writes two weekly columns—"Country Real Estate" and one for www.LandThink.com. He contributes commentaries to public radio and speaks to audiences, other than his wife, Melissa Dowd, and their daughter, Molly Seltzer. He has a Ph.D. from Columbia University, along with a current Class "A" residential contractor's license and a long-expired apprentice underground coal-mining certificate from West Virginia.
