Meet the Author

Cheryl St.John is the award-winning author of nearly 50 Harlequin and Silhouette books. Cheryl has always loved the exciting and diverse worlds available between the covers of books. As a child Cheryl wrote stories and drew covers, then stapled them into little books. She cut all the tiny book images from the book club advertisements in the Sunday paper and glued them to bits of cardboard so Barbie® had a full library.

She was a voracious reader and admits her early passion was for horror and true crime. Eventually she read Victoria Holt and Catherine Cookson, but one fateful day browsing the book section, she took a chance on a different genre and bought Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer, then promptly drove back to the store for The Rainbow Season by Lisa Gregory. She was hooked for life.

And so, when she got serious and decided to write a book, it was, of course, a romance. A very badly written and poorly plotted romance. But eventually she joined Romance Writers of America and her local chapter, Romance Authors of the Heartland, and was fortunate to have the late Diane Wicker Davis as her first mentor.

Cheryl believes in paying it forward, and her some of her most rewarding experiences have been sharing in the successes of writers she has coached over the years.

Cheryl loves hearing from readers.

When Booker Hayes quit the army, he went to New York to find his niece, who was in an adoption house. Then he found out that she was sent to Nebraska, so he had to go and find her. After he had gotten her, she was sad because she had to leave Thea, a woman who looked after her and was like a mother to her, she wouldn't eat or take a bath or even do anything. So, Booker had to ask Thea if she wouldn't mind watching her while doing some household chores. Afterwards, Booker was accused for killing a man. He is put in jail and nobody believes he is innocent except for his niece, Zoey, his long time friend Red Horse, and a helper named Lucas. They had to find a way to make everyone believe he was innocent before the town¿s people hang him. I liked how the book kept you guessing about what would happen next. I also liked how you couldn't put the book down because you wanted to find out what would happen next. I didn't like how the beginning was slow and how some other parts were slow. Cheryl St. John is a great author. I thought that Land of Dreams was an ok title for this story.

This Historical Romance LAND OF DREAMS by Cheryle St. John is just an spectacular book read: filled with struggle and triumphs. The characters are powerfully moving when the lead character Booker Hayes a goes looking for his only living relative-a sweet little girl by the name of Zoe. He finally finds her in the secure loving Home of his to be Bride Thea but it's a long trailing struggles of wills to that "point" & other wounded Hearts like Lucas that needs to be cared & a place they too will call Home. Beautiful story and have read many of her books since then & enjoyed "all" of them yet this one LAND OF DREAMS I will cherish to Heart always. I wish it would be release, again even though I do have my origional release when 1st came out in paperbook: it's a lovely cover artwork of Booker, Thea & Zoe.
