Meet the Author


Tom Connor is the author or co-author of more than a dozen books, including Suburban Renewal: Transforming Standard Capes, Ranches and Builders’ Colonials into Unique Homes and The House to Ourselves: Reinventing Home Once the Kids Are Grown. His articles on architecture and home design have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Los Angeles Times Magazine, Town & Country, House & Garden, and House Beautiful, among other publications.

Paulo Vicente is a partner in the Fairfield, Connecticut, firm Vicente-Burin Architects, LLC, and specializes in residential design. His designs have won awards from such organizations as the Antiquarian and Landmarks Society in Hartford, Connecticut, and have been published in Home magazine.
