    Not just for beginners

The overview is misleading ("designed specifically for middle-school students"),implying that this book is simplistic and won't be useful for very long. I purchased it for my two high school age, beginning French students, because of the 20,000 example sentences. They find this book very useful, not only because of the examples, but the verb conjugation entries as well. After my college student looked through it, she wanted a copy. I purchase two more, including one for myself, and I use it when I read popular magazines, newspapers, and novels in French. It is particularyly helpful for idioms and for prepositional phrases, which can be tricky. We own other French-English dictionaries and a Larousse French dictionary, but this is the most practical one for helping you comprehend modern, idiomatic French.
