    The need for Fulfilling Purpose

Jeanne Archambault loves children! This comes through in her writing. LARRY THE LAWNMOWER reveals the author's insight into the mind and emotions of the child. Larry enjoys a sense of pride, a love for importance, and an appreciation for the beauty of nature. He enjoys sharing his own story. Threatened when a 'rider mower' takes his place, Larry becomes sad and dejected. He is left alone until the day a young boy buys him for his job mowing lawns. With new paint, some oil, and a lots of attention, Larry again takes pride in fulfilling his purpose. Victoria Corey beautifully illustrates the story in pastel watercolors with scenic backgrounds from the New England landscape. LARRY THE LAWNMOWER is an excellent idea for the preschool classroom, and for beginning readers. The book makes a perfect gift. The rhyming meter combined with the vivid pictures brings the story to life for the young child, the preschooler, and every young reader. An enchanting adventure. Richard R. Blake, Christian Education Consultant

Larry the Lawnmower appeals to the young in all of us as well as

Larry the Lawnmower appeals to the young in all of us as well as to the children. Larry accomplishes his job as a new lawnmower with  passion and then he is replaced in old age. However, with new paint and a new owner his is again successful in his job. Good for Larry and good for all of us to see his comeback. That is the lesson  I want my children to  learn.

In addition, the colorful illustrations are fun to ee throughout the story while the rhyming text flows quickly towards the successful end of Larry/s journey.

As a mother of four children, I highly recommend reading again and again this wonderful and endearing story of Larry's adventures and success.  As an adult, I love the comeback lawnmower that is in all of us.

    Wonderful for Lawnmower loving kids

My son is obsessed with lawnmowers and after a long internet search, this book was what I could find on this less easy to find topic of children's book. I am SO happy we found it! He was 18 mos. old when we got it and now that he is two and we read it nearly daily, he can fill in the blanks of the words at the end of each rhyming line. The book really got him to know more about feelings, as he anticipates Larry's sad moment each time STILL! The pictures are beautiful and the overall theme of the book is just sweet. It is one you won't mind reading over and over again... as that's what you will do at this age. Finally a book about lawnmowers!

Wonderful story with a great message

Little Larry is so cute and happy and kids love to follow along with his little mouse friend through all his adventures. Even when not having the delightful rhyming story read to them, pre-readers can look at the expressive, colorful illustrations and 'read' to themselves. Highly recommended!

    Larry rocks and mows!

What a happy little book. This book has become a favorite of my daughters in a short period of time. The story itself has a wonderful message about the value and joy of recycling and it is told in delightful rhymes that kids can relate to, along with colorful and happy illustrations that kids love to talk about. A great little story! I want to order it for all my friends with kids!

A wonderful little story with adorable illustrations!

My daughter loves this book! The rhyming makes it fun to read and the illustrations are fantastic, done in bright beautiful colors. Larry is such a loveable little lawnmower he almost becomes human! His little friend, a mouse, makes an appearance on every page and my daughter has had fun finding him throughout the book. I highly recommend this refreshing children's book. My only complaint is that I'm sick of reading it over and over and over and ... !!!
